Hi all,

I was thinking to go to English cinema in Nymphenburger str sometime in this week or next week.
The movie I wish to watch is "The Perfume" in the evening show.

Does anyone wants to join?

Post a day and time and you'll get some takers! I'm interested, depending on the day.

Hi Nicky,

What is your suggestion? How would be next Tuesday (26th sept) at 19:30 ?
Since you are the only one replying to this offer I sponsor you the movie ticket as well.

Come on, TTers! A night at the cinema would make a change from curry! It could be preceeded or followed by drinks, food, whatever.
BadDoggie
Most of us already saw it. For free. And afterwards we told the producer exactly which parts sucked. And why.

And he ignored us. Every single bit of suckage remains.

OK, it's worth seeing once, but the way it is, there's not a prayer that I'll watch it a second time.

ARRRRRF.
Panama
hey, whatever happened to woof? or is that the pirate dog in you?
Showem
I do want to see this again and compare it to the version we saw, but I'm not quite willing to go and see it at full price in the theater. Sorry Joan.

This is most likely the reason you're getting so little response, whatever we thought of the film.

Mass orgy at the end.

A virtual mass orgy. I thought it was funny.
Topsy
yeah, the mass orgy at the end was pretty funny
i wonder if they left that bit in? i suppose they'd have to, really
Jeeves
It's an integral part of the story, so yeah.
They will of course have cleaned up the graphics in the meantime.
mere
so is it scary or just creepy or what? (or neither)
Elfenstar
so, i went last night with 4 others: 2 germans and 1 vietnamese, but who has lived in germany since she was 12, and one indian guy and none had read the book. and they all liked the movie. thought it was a bit drawn out, but also thought the movie was very creepy.

him sniffing on the mirabella girl & flashbacks to it, was integral to his obsession, but i think only i got that cause i read the book prior to seeing the film. and the significance of him not having his own scent was also caught on by the other 4, but only later in the film.

and yes, dustin's accent was very stupid. not sure why he tried anything at all.
Eleanor Rigby
I think the general consensus is those who haven't read the book or had read the book long enough ago to not have a mental picture of their own of how they expect the movie to be, liked it. Most of those who have recently read the book tend not to like it. I've read it recently but haven't seen the film yet. I'll probably go sometime this week.

Nah that was pretty obvious (I haven't read the book).

Then your friends should have been paying more attention as they say this right at the beginnign of the film if I'm not mistaken!

I haven't read the book and thought the film was fine though there were a few points which I disliked; the style (not sure if it was the editing or directing) made me cringe in certain places.

And the mass orgy wasn't that 'virtual' for a film with a 12 rating (I think it is in Germany).
