Tips on where to meet other executives

currenfan
Does anyone have an idea as to whether there is some secret hangout for C-level executives? Back in San Diego I found numberous professional groups such as "the SD supply chain org." Their meetings were free, involved discussions of relevant topics, and served as a great place to network. Does anyone know of any public/private organizations in Munich that might serve the same purpose? contacts, contacts, contacts

American-German Business Club, Munich Chapter e.V. (also known as the AGBC)

They meet once a month I think. I've never been but a friend has.

Also the Munich Toastmasters might be of interest.

The California Association Networking Club meets monthly. For more information, you may contact the president, Dave Dowdy who just so happens to be the treasurer for AGBC.

Moderated E-mail Discussion Group Connects Professional Women
MUNICH, GERMANY and PORTSMOUTH, NH USA -- JUNE 7, 2004 – WirWIT, the German chapter of the world’s largest online network for women in business, has officially launched in Munich, Germany. WirWIT joins six other European chapters of WorldWIT and more than sixty worldwide. The heart of the networking organization is a free, moderated, English-language e-mail discussion group for the exchange of professional experiences, contacts and ideas. The German chapter is being led by Sandra Eilenstein and Tasha Kostantacos.

Tasha Kostantacos is founder of Kapria International, a marketing and business development firm working with B2B software companies expanding into Europe. Kostantacos specializes in the German market, having lived and worked there for almost 15 years. Now based in Portsmouth, NH, she will draw upon her extensive European and New England IT network to connect women sharing an interest in Germany.

The German-born Sandra Eilenstein, owner of ITPR Information-Travels Public Relations in Munich, spent her childhood in the USA and returned to Europe in 1991. As co-Executive Director of WirWIT, Eilenstein plans to use her multi-cultural upbringing and more than 20 years in various marketing, communications and sales positions.

Liz Ryan, CEO and Founder of WorldWIT says, “I am thrilled that these two outstanding women are sharing the role of Executive Director. The pair provides WirWIT members with two unique perspectives that will lead to interesting online networking as well as the advantages of a doubled effort in building the WirWIT network and supporting its members.

Munich is the perfect location for a WorldWIT chapter as it is home to many leading technology companies, many of which have established German and / or EMEA operations there. Across Bavaria, more than 60,000 students are enrolled in information technology, mathematics, science and engineering programs. In addition, the Bavarian State government invests millions annually in local initiatives and projects aimed at advancing development and increasing opportunities in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector.

WorldWIT also organizes networking events, seminars and special events in major cities around the world, providing the opportunity for professionals and industry leaders to meet face-to-face.

Women interested in joining WirWIT’s moderated e-mail discussion group can register by visiting the WorldWIT website at www.worldwit.org or by sending an e-mail directly to wirwit-join@worldwit.org. For more information, contact Sandra Eilenstein at sandrae@worldwit.org or Tasha Kostantacos at tashak@worldwit.org.

To revive an old thread with a new question...

A friend of mine (German/American) is starting a new business doing mediation work for partners, families and colleagues. (She's done this work extensively in the US, and is now kicking off in Munich.)

Does anyone know of any networking clubs, societies or professional associations, either in English or German, here in Munich that she could join? Or any helpful hints in this direction?

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if the California Association of Germany still meets? If so, what are the details about their meetings, etc. I'd really like to attend/join. I can't really seem to find much information about this group anywhere I look. Except that a dude named Triple D is the founder of it and several other organizations around Munich. As my name gives away, I'm from California and living in Germany. Looking for gatherings of those who come from similar lines and anyone else for that matter! Thanks!

Seeing that this is four years down the road from the original thread, is she on Xing? The Nuremberg Forum has local meet and greets and I assume most of the other regional groups do too.

Does anyone know of any networking groups in Frankfurt?
I will be moving there in a couple of weeks and really excited by the opportunity to take my business to an international from the UK but successful networking and interacting with other independent business owners will be crucial to my business success.
