I stumbled across the following webstite
http://www.munichgaa.de/

for anyone who is interested in GAA. There is some sort of a game on the 17th for anyone who wants to go or is curious what this is all about (see website for details). Football and Hurling matches on I believe. For the Ozzies its the closet tihng in this part of the world to Ozzie rules (EDIT: err apart from actual Ozzie rules...sorry Hazza!!)

I work with two of the players and it should be well worth going to see. They play in some sort of European league and if Munich wins this tournament then they go top of it.

I think we're actually in the process of organising a composite rules game against the Gaelic footballers...

Compromise, innit?
Over the bar
Hi there,

What is happening on the 17th of July is that the München Colmcilles Gaelic Athletic Association e.V. are hosting Round 5 of Iretex European Gaelic Football league. Its an all day event, with approximatly 13 teams competing (mens and ladies). There will also be a challenge hurling match againest Zürich during the afternoon, this is also very entertaining to watch and is one of the fastest field sports in the world. Keep an eye on the 'Munich Festivals and Events' section of Toytown Munich or visit www.munichgaa.de for more details.

Looking forward to another compromise rules match!

All the best,

Dan

good man.
Just to note, we'll be running a little beer garden at the football grounds on the day serving the cheapest Draught Guinness and Augustiner Helles in town.
No Euro-Teuro with us! rolleyes.gif

There is info leaflets in most (if not all) the irish pubs about the event. So swing by to Gunters or anyplace to get one of them.

Hopefully the bar won't be drank dry like last year cool.gif
Food is also available from a Greek Resturant located on the grounds throughout the day too.

Info leaflets are in each and every irish pub in Munich since last night. Little map and directions included in the middle. If any pub runs out then please tell us and we will send out our messangers with refills!

Bar will definitely not run dry this year. Ordered plenty enough of beverages for a civilized afternoons drinking! Ahem wink.gif
Pity i have to play all day!
