Ideas for a team event in Bochum / Dortmund

Suggested activities for groups of work colleagues

Hi Toytowners, I'm a Toytowner from Munich but here in Bochum/Dortmund on a project. I will have to plan a team event soon and was wondering if you all had any good ideas. The last one my predecessor did was a tour of a brewery with dinner afterward. Something that is fun and team-oriented with the possibility to have a meal afterwards and get to know one another. Bowling is a bit tired and it would be great if I could see something special to the area...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Is there a medieval restaurant there where the women have to serve the men?

Then make the women dress as men and the men as women and go have some fun. laugh.gif

So just for clarification the Team Event you need to organise is going to be held in Bochum/Dortmund?

Bowling is a bit tired

aren't team events in general a bit 'tired'

I guess you want a 'doing' event rather than a more passive 'watching/viewing' event. Usual tired go-kart/paintball options I suppose

How many people?
More a team-building thing or more a let's-go-somewhere-together-and-have-fun thing?

If the emphasis is on team-building:
How about a workshop where they all learn some new skill (someone I know does this with Samba perccussion) - it's still fun, but not in the same league as going bowling, etc.

Mind you: you couldn't do this with 60 people, more like with 10 or 20.
PM me if it sounds like an interesting option - the guy I'm thinking of is based in Duesseldorf.

Thanks all for posting. Another cool thing we did in Düsseldorf one time was a cooking activity, where we broke up in groups, each group had to prepare a course according to a recipe, and we got a "coach." Then we ate it! It would be about 25-30 people at the most...our project is in Lütgendortmund and I wouldn't want to make them drive more than 20 minutes from the office to whatever the event is. Thanks again!

Might be a bit of a stretch (distance wise) - and a problem for people in your group with height issues - but in Oberhausen there is a park next to the Gasometer where you can get all harnessed up, climb up trees and walk tight ropes, hang upside down from wires, ride a flying fox thingamajig etc. It looks like it would be a lot of fun to do as a group activity (and a hell of a lot cheaper than going by yourself to do it). Last time I was in Oberhausen I picked up a brochure for the place only now it is buried somewhere under a pile of papers! If what I've written so far is of any interest to you, I can go and retrieve said brochure from wherever it is hiding and give you the name, contact details etc. If not, please disregard this post smile.gif
