Hi All,
Can anyone suggest the english term for 'öffentliche zahlungen'. I have looked it up on the net, asked my German colleagues but without any satisfactory answer.
thanks

Literally - public payments. However I have no clue what is meant by it. What's the context?

Edit: Whoops. I read that as "ordentliche", not "öffentliche".
It's monies paid out by the government, whether in the form of Kindergeld, subsidies to a school, the payments made for street repairs, etc.
woof.

Think Raga16 means "Zahlungen der Öffentlichen Hand" ? State payments, payments by public authorities...?

Public funds.
Public support.
Public subsidies.
Public payments.
depending on the context.
You could also use city/state/federal/government funds instead of public.

Or public sector expenditure, public sector fiscal transactions, public sector transfers...?

Thank you folks for your suggestions! I had to explain this term to my son for his school work.
