I have been trying to find a good "immune system" doctor here for ages, but am failing miserably! I have a thyroid problem, and am not getting great treatment right now. Anyone know of a specialist?

It is a question of knowing which doctors specialise in thyroid problems.

Do you speak German, or are you looking for someone who speaks English?

if you post the info here, everyone can benefit from it. I wouldn't post my phone number publicly either -- you have another few minutes to remove them if you like.

Of course you're failing, you're looking into the wrong area. Thyroid would fall under endocrinology. rolleyes.gif

Hi, thanks to both of you for replying to my thread - I am at a loss as to what to do about my thyroid problem, I have been seeing an internal medicine specialist, but really don't feel that we are getting anywhere - my problem is an auto-immune problem. So I really need someone who specialises in that, but who speaks english - my German is basic and it is difficult to explain this kind of stuff! Any suggestions would be gratefully received...

As above, seems like you've already consulted endocrinologists re: your thyroid but you must have the Hashimoto's thyroid or another strain to want to speak with an immunologist...

My FrauenArtzt Dr. Summerer-Moustaki (655-386, Shoenstr. 8 right across from CandidPlatz) has Endocrinology as another sub specialty listed on the American Consulate in Munich website. Perhaps you want to meet with her and see who she would refer you on to?

She is American raised so is a native English speaker.

Good luck. (And don't you need to take Iodine in Europe if you have auto-immune thyroid disorders?)
