I have to confess i did not know the band. But I am always very curious about this less known bands. Checked the web site and they have some samples. They have Strange, but cool stuff. Will be there

I am new to Munich, and I have never been to a Yo La Tengo show, but only because of scheduling difficulties. I will be there and would be delighted if someone would let me tag along with them!

me, gilfriend and friends are probably going, so if you wanna join us your wellcome. I saw them live a couple a years ago, and it was amazing!
L. Michele
Great! Do I buy a ticket in advance or at the door? I'm not sure how things work here...
Hippo
The Muffathalle's a reasonable size, so there are likely to be tickets left, but if you want to be sure, you can buy tickets in town in the tourist information office on Marienplatz.

Sweet. Will do next time I am over there.
L. Michele
Ah, once again Yo La Tengo plans are foiled. I will be back in NY on the 23rd.

Lovely show. Like Crazy Horse era Neil Young for people who listen to NPR. Only downside was an audience who felt like a concert is the perfect opportunity to chat or make out. For pity's sake, if you're not there to listen to music, stay home.

Don't tell me they sound like Neil Young - I've only just decided that I like them and may be put off.
More Belle & Sebastian put through a Sonic Youth mincer and a woman who sings like Sinead O'Connor, well, if Sinead wasn't Irish. Or mental.
Crowd really hacked me off badly - the kissers I can live with, it can be quite sweet, but the blablahblah social diarists at full volume near the stage? That's just plain old rude.
Curious about Yo La Tengo? The concert was recorded for BR's Zündfunk - check their website for transmission times.

When's the last time you listened to Rust Never Sleeps or Everybody Knows this is Nowhere? I think there's quite a lot of Neil Young and a bit of Velvet Underground in the long guitary shoe-gazing bits. "Give The Story of Yo La Tango" or "Pass the Hatchet, I Think I'm Goodkind" a listen. Also the way they assimilate different genres and switch effortlessly between amped up grit and softer, vocally intimate songs reminds me very much of Neil Young.

Lovely gig, nice mix of older stuff in there, thanks to Katrina for dragging me to the front for the encores.

It's be on Bayern 2 on the 23rd December, 11 'til midnight. Do B2 do streaming over the internet?
