My boss' dad has been involved in a car accident in Dehli near the airport. The car contained four people, and was hit by a bus. Some people have been killed others have been taken to hostpital. That is all he knows. He was called at 6am this morning, by a brother of an Indian that was in the car with him.

He has called the Finnish embassy but they dont know anything, as they are situated in Bombay they cant help much either.

Anybody got any ideas on what he can do to try to locate his father?

I found something about a bus accident where a bus hit a car. There's nothing about deaths, but it is mentioned that the bus driver was taken to this hospital:

All India Institute of Medical Sciences
Address:
Ansari Nagar
New Delhi
Delhi
India

Phone:
91-11-686 4851

I dunno if that's of any help, but may be worthed to try. Maybe from there you could get some information about contacting a central office where they can give you details about the accident that you are looking for.

On the Delhi police site there's a traffic helpline number: 2337 8888

i presume you've rung the indian embassy here in germany? they may have the number of the dehli police. is there a british consulate there? they might be able to help as its EU?

I have checked some local newspapers and they do not report a fatal accident except the one where the bus driver was injured. The web address of Indian consulate:

http://www.cgimunich.de/
arshoo
usually cases are taken to AIIMS listed by panama above. else the closest hospital would be

http://www.apollohospdelhi.com/

or the army hospital but usually foreginers are not taken there.

traffic police would sound like a good idea though the central team only comes to know later where the victims were taken.

traffic helpline - +91-11-23378888

listed above is good use but the best is the PCR Helpline, which is 100 (so i assume +91-11-100) as they would be the ones who actually take the wounded to hospitals.
