Lesbian and Gay Toytowners Meet Up!

OK, following on from the thread about Munich's gay bars, kindly started by Profundo,
there came out the idea of having a Toytowners who-play-for-the-other-team meet up
for beers, laughs, South Park (?) - and possibly general debauchery.

Now there's a fair number of English gay and lesbian people in Munich, not all of them on Toytown,
not all of them knowing each other and often, swimming in VERY different pool on the scene.
But I think a big meet up of the whole lot could be errrm interesting - so please people, put the word out!

Now to be totally arbiatary, I'm going to suggest we meet for beers at the gay centre SUB:
It's cheap (€2.60 Augustiner Edelstoff), it's very central (Müllerstrasse 43), EVERYONE is welcome
and there is very little "attitude".

As for a date, I suggest Thursday 29th July, it's the day before the start of the Eurogames
(European LGBT sports festival) and therefore there it seems an ideal time to have an English speaking meet up.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Stammtisch (regular weekly pub meet ups) but it would be nice if an informal no obligation
network came out of this. In the gay centre there are already French, Spanish and Italian speakers meet ups.

So, whaddya think?

so far we have ben affleck and now keanu... wonder what other famous people are in the group... btw, ben isnt on this team, but still a great sport!! when i have a goatee, am told i look like tom green... needless to say i shaved it quite rapidly after that. i like to think i look like brad pit, but found out later someone pasted his pic on my bathroom mirror and it wasnt me at all. it made shaving hell. i looked like edward scissorhands for a good week or two!!!

hey, this weekend is gay pride in munich! i think we should do something... does someone have a trailer we could ride on or maybe we decorate our bikes or something fun?? although, watching a parade is normally more fun than being in one... friday i have friends coming to town from stuttgart ... the more the merrier... lets get planning!!! i dont know the town well enough to say where, but sendlingtor sounds good to me (ignoramus that i am)

I'm very 50-50 on Pride nowadays as I think it has got WAY too commercial but we could do a meet up!

Gay Pride, commercial?? you mean like Christmas, Valentine's, Easter, Halloween, Mardi Gras... etc???

Actually I have never been to a Gay Pride Parade, but I figure that I might as well go to one here. I have friends coming to town to attend, so it will be fun I am sure. I dunno where we are meeting up, probably Gartnerplatz or Sendlingertor.

Either are good for me as I live in the middle of the Bemuda Triangle.

Any other Toytowners of the other persuasion wanna meet up Saturday for fun and frollicks and all the cheap prosecco you can guzzle!

I went with some friends to watch the parade a few years ago. Ended up joining it at stachus and finished at marienplatz, by then i was absolutely wasted, drinking cheap, very cheap red wine from the bottle (charming, I know...)

It was great fun, but I never managed to do it again ...which is a pity. I have a friend coming over for the weekend, and if he is up for it, we might come around for a good time.

Just been to PLUS for 2 bottles of that lovely street festival € 1,89 Prosecco and a 24 box of Kleine Feiglings!

In here, everyone looks the same to me, except Keanu Brando above. Where does the parade start? and how would we have a clue who each other is?

OK, in the hope that I get the chance to boo “Schwesterwelle� (slimy leader of the free marketeering German Liberal Party, known for years to be bent as a 3 pound note and suddenly “outed� in the papers this week)
I’m gonna try and go to the political rally at Marienplatz at 11 Saturday.

As I get slagged off for being the “community centre poof� I might as well join them and will be marching with the gay centre SUB on the parade.
They will be immediately behind Deutsche AIDS Hilfe I think.
I’ll be swigging from a cheap bottle of prosecco and am cutting me hair tonight so I’ll have a 3mm shaved head.
Probably be wearing a blue t shirt. Come and say hello.

I’m not a huge fan of the fest afterwards so once I’ve swigged my carry out plonk I’ll probably be heading off to Carmen’s Lounge to boogie, might see you there. It's a cheap and cheerful club and likely to be jammers.
They'll be open from 5pm at the latest and are unlikely to close until 6am Sunday morning - so it's gonna be a big one!

Pumps race on Sunday. Probably in Lonsdale shirt but I might go on a total wind up and put an England top on! Come along, it's a great laugh.

Damn that I'm feeling ill !

A mate just called to say that SUB, Müllerstrasse 43, where we are meeting on Thursday was "Choc a bloc with poofs from Manchester" Obviously the Eurogamers and supporters are arriving!

As I like a bit of a Coronation Street experience he is under strict instructions to get em to come back for the Meet Up!

I have a mandatory and politically necessary corporate function to attend. I am crushed that i will be missing the first get-together.

the CSD parade was a blast! (my first) i walked with the "candy club" wearing a yellow Tshirt and trading condoms for kisses. Life is good!!!

Instead of clubbing saturday nite, i went to relax at deutche eiche, and it was full of foreigners. Needless to say, it was wonderfully "relaxing". ;-)

Pity you can't come along this time Karl thanks for the PM and I'll let you know the next stuff we do.

I had to cut it short the other night because I did have an early shift the next morning and was already pretty wasted. I can't make hans sachs strassenfest but i do know some TT people wull be there.

Not a bad idea. I am not sure what time the whole thing officially kicks off(14:00?) but I will be in the area in from of NIL around 13:00.
