Alright. I've got a bone to pick with one of you.

A few weeks ago a girl from my Friday morning English class, we'll call her "Heidi", said she'd been at a BBQ and met this "really nice English man". huh.gif Anyway, this and that, she went on and on about him and later I found out he'd invited her to go to Ned Kelley's on that Thursday night for some drinks.

Since then Heidi's either not bothered to come to class Friday morning at all or, like today, she comes in- eyes bloodshot, looking like she's about to be sick all over my conference table. mad.gif When she walked in today (an hour late) I said, "Oh-oh. Ned Kelley's again last night?" Answer: "Yeah...I feel sick."

Whoever you are (and believe me, I will find out) STOP GETTING MY STUDENT DRUNK ON THURSDAY NIGHTS! mad.gif She's missing a lot of class and I'm holding you, whoever you might be, personally responsible for it. Jesus.
Deccie
how old is said Heidi? old enough to make her own decisions?
hams
JennyL - How old is your student? If an adult, then surely she should take responsibility for the consequences of her own actions.

I can understand you being upset about her absenses, but then you should really have a talk to her, oder?
Jenny L
Barely. That's not the point.

Of course she's old enough to make her own decisions. But if, say, this English guy is buying her drinks or something then he could maybe buy her one less next time. See what I mean?
gemini
So Jenny do you actually know who the "English man" is? Has "Heidi" stated he is a TTer?

By the way sweet of you to care.
Jenny L
Ok, this isn't a completely serious post- more just a plea to either take it easy on my Heidi-- or at least invite me along next time. wink.gif

I'm not even sure he's on TT, but I'll find more about him from her.
don_riina
So, this Heidi chick is into English guys? Could you post a picture or two?
Kza
Just go stake out neds in disguise. Find out who it is..
Jenny L
She is a cute girl actually. Yeah, I believe I'll have to do a little recon work next week. smile.gif
SleeplessInMunich

tongue.gif perhaps. I do love Karaoke night...

Well, she'll probably be there next Thursday for anyone who's interested. wink.gif
Darkknight
Anybody up for Thursday drinks @ Neds ?? biggrin.gif
Deccie
@darknight,

I think that is what Jenny wants. a load of you to go to Neds on Thurs.
Zeppelin
as many english men as possible? just to make it difficult?
Grinner
Tell her I am available any night...
HelterSkelter
If she wants to try something more local, I promise you we'll skip the drinks and get right down to business so she won't be that hung-over, but only a bit knackered the next morning. laugh.gif
bluedave
If it had been Outland last thursday i would have held my hands up to the crime but i wasn't in Neds, i think huh.gif

Anyway the really nice bit ruled me out biggrin.gif
Jenny L
Yeah, HS, that'd be great. Thanks, man. rolleyes.gif

Actually I think a bunch of you should all go down to Ned's on Thursday and try out some of those chat up lines. biggrin.gif I would of course be there incognito, sipping my cocktail, listening in on your attempts to woo my little German, and laughing my ass off.

I think she's either naive or just really confused.

Heidi: I was at this bbq last weekend and met this really nice English man.
Me: You met a what?
Heidi: A really nice English man.
Me: .blink.gif..erm, ok... I'm sorry, I don't understand. I thought you said a really nice English man.
Heidi: Ja. (innocently blinking and nodding her head)
Me: uh-huh...if you say so. unsure.gif

I think you should go with the previous idea and post a couple of pics of the lovely prey Heidi so we know who to hit on say hello to wink.gif

Good idea, saves a lot of time!
Jenny L
biggrin.gif German pick up lines are fantastic. Especially any that start out "Na, du süße Maus" biggrin.gif
HelterSkelter
Well, the cheesiest has to be: "Ist Dein Vater ein Dieb?" - "Nein." - "Wer hat denn dann nur die Diamanten gestohlen, um sie in Deinen Augen zu verstecken?" rolleyes.gif

Now that's just pathetic... biggrin.gif
Jenny L
Oh my God. That one is simply vomit-inducing.

Ok, here's a gratuitous Heidi picture. wink.gif Sorry, I have no real pictures of my student.

bluedave
I was rather hoping she would look more like this Heidi tongue.gif

HelterSkelter
Nah... she already fell for Seal's pick up lines!
