On Saturday 9 September, the Munich Kangaroos Aussie Rules team are going to try to defend their title of German champions against Rheinland.

The game will start at 2pm, but from 11am there will be lead-up games on (including Hamburg v Frankfurt and Strasbourg v a combined team).

So come along and support the Roos!! The more support we get, the more it will help us.

This is where it's at. Either Michaelibad or Quiddestrasse U-Bahn stops:

I would suggest, given the choice of language, that you would want to undress appropriately.

A Bavarian coloured franger would suffice.

My bad. I actually went to school, so Aussie slang isn't in my daily vocabulary.

Its now only my 3rd day in Munich. I was learning about the football leagues and tournaments and whatever and its not like the states. From what I've read it seems like if you have a team and as long as they keep winning and moving up to another division or whatever you call them here, eventually you can make it to the main one, where FC Bayern and other big names play. So, I wasnt sure. Thats why I asked, thats what I think. Now you've indirectly informed me that it is not a professional game. Thank You. And if I am wrong on how professional football works on this side of the pond, please let me know so I can avoid more embarrassment.

Mate, it's Australian Rules Football, and as such I don't think the Munich Roos are likely to join the Bundesliga anytime soon.

Good luck boys - wish I was there watching these fine athletes at work!

Interesting to see where you actually play there - wasn't there a line of stones and sprinkler caps running through the ground?
Hazza
The stones have apparently gone. They were all over the ground last time because they were installing a new irrigation system. The sprinkler head holes will be filled with dirt before the games

Sorry - didn't mean to be an arse. I actually didn't think you asked seriously...

The details of what's happening throughout the day is here.

There will be beer available as well as a BBQ on during the day. The after party is at The Arc - but will be a closed function for presentations and dinner between 7pm and 11pm.

If you want to join us for the after party, we'll be open to everyone from 11pm. Derren will be playing some live music solo from 11pm, so everyone is welcome to come down afterwards.

Well done Roos! Great come-from-behind win!
