We appear to have missed August (by popular demand of restaurant owners everywhere?), but it seems like high time for another evening of high brow conversation, good manners, throwing of semmels, and drinking booze out of the belly dancer's navel, no?
My suggestion would be
Blue Nile in Siegestr. preferably on a Thursday in September (since I always miss out on ones at the weekend by being such a social animal

), but of course other ideas are welcome.

the
Blue Nile on Belgrad is much bigger, so maybe a better option.
I am avail on Thursday nights too.

Thursdays are good. Never been to either
Blue Nile so all the more reason to do so soon. Good move.

Wiesn? I have no idea when it is on (I don't drink beer) so if we set a date that misses it, it will be purely by luck or because someone who knows suggests a date acceptable to all

I am interested in coming too. Thursdays are great for me. Couldn't give a toss if it collides with the Wiesn

Blue Nile sounds good
have been to the one on belgradstr., but never the Siegestr one
couldn't care less about the Wies'n either
@ Nicky, there's a review from you on the link OhFFS posted saying the food was gross and made you feel sick

I'm interested - I love the term "over-30's" - makes me feel so young.

Can't say definitely at this stage though. In any case, I'm totally indifferent to the annual pseudo-Bavarian fancy-dress drunken orgy going on over at
Theresienwiese.
I seem to remember that the
Blue Nile in Siegesstr. is rather small though. Would they be able to fit us in comfortably if it's a large group?
EDIT: Just saw that Carm also mentioned that the other "Blue Nile" on Belgradstr. is bigger.

Blue Nile" on Belgradstr. is bigger
I confess, the only reason I suggested the other one is that that is the one I know

BN seems a popular idea so I guess we'll go with that.
I think we should set a cutoff date for "registrations" due it being so close to OF so more people than normal will be in town trying to get into restaurants. I'll phone up an book on Monday morning and will let you know the result.
Current "standings":
Me
Carm
Allershausen
UA(??)
FranB(?)
Tinap(?)
Jeeves(?)
Nicky(??)
Topsy(?)
ruapehu(?)
GreenTea(?)
Any +1s in all of that?
?s and anyone else who fancies it please give a definite yay if you are happy with the date and place (when do you expect to know by, Nicky? I'm sure if there are enough of us squeezing in one more won't be too much of a problem).
I guess earlyish evening - 7?
Carm
Aug 31 2006, 6:08 pm
The one on Belgradstr is just up from Hollenzollerenpl heading city outwards.
I am fine with the date, but 7pm is kind of hard for me on Thursdays. But I will be there.

Well, we'll just know.
If you come across as a grumpy cynical git you're either a) Bavarian, or b) over 30. And we'll tell by the accent whether you're Bavarian or not.
(I don't think it is a hard and fast rule, it was just a way of making these events a bit different and not, necessarily, just another typical "get as many beers down your neck as fast as possible and then puke all over the place because we're all teenage wasters" TTM evening. That's my take on it anyhow.)

OK, I'm going to be bold and brave and commit myself, so please count me in. Did I misinterpret the over-30 rule? I thought it referred to the number of wrinkles you have? Or was it the number of chins?
Note for those taking public transport (assuming we're going to the place in Belgradstr):
The buses and
trams that pass by that way are a bit disrupted at the moment due to road works at Kurfuerstenplatz. Trams 12 and 27 are replaced by buses 112 and 127 which follow the same routes I think. The bus 53 coming from
Muenchner Freiheit makes a detour away from Kurfuerstenplatz, but the 53 in the other direction - coming from Rotkreuzplatz - does go around Kurfuerstenplatz. At least that's how it is at present. Maybe it will have changed again in a couple of weeks. I go past there on the bus once or twice a week, so I'll post an update nearer the time if I can figure it out.

Carm, maybe you meant Kurfuerstenplatz? There's an
U-Bahn station at
Hohenzollernplatz, but I reckon it would be about 10 minutes walk from there to the
Blue Nile.
