Why are you happy today?

Actually, I'm happy that I can leave a glass of wine, a slice of cheese and/or salami on the table while I walk out of the room and no hair-ball creature is going to try to steal it. I could cook dinner without hiding the meat because there's only a little scottish terrier thing here, not one bold cat in sight with the gumption to haul off a steak and choke on it under my bed or anything.

Because I've been provisionally offered a place on the MA in Interpreting and Translation...after I thought I'd completely fucked it up. YAY!!! Screw you doctors! I'm outtie!

I’m happy today because my mother is my mother and for all the things she does that does that does my head in, she will always be there for me.

I’m happy because she never judges me and she always sees the positive things about a situation and that gives me hope about the future.

I’m happy because even tho she cant read this and she is miles away that she knows that this is how I feel, I don’t need to say the words to her. She knows!

I’m happy because she does actually know what she is talking about even tho sometimes I don’t give her credit for the life that she endured.

I’m happy because you are my mum and even tho I’m never going say these words to you (and you are never going sign up for TT lol) you know it. And I don’t ever have to try and explain myself to you.

I’m happy because you are my mum and I don’t really need anything fucking else. X

Cos life is bittersweet and sometimes you don't notice that a situation has improved until it has sadly deteriorated again.

Because the horrible task of clearing and renovating the town-house in Lohhof is over and I lost 6kg while doing it.

Because I had my iPod on coming into work and although I resisted the temptation to pogo like a loon, the song made me grin big style.

I'm happy because I haven't been out for awhile and get to go to a really nice bar tonight.

Because finally, after 3 months of waiting, my container of goods is being unloaded into my home today. And I have my own Yankee CAR!!! yeehah!!! The only problem is that they don't think they can get the California King sized mattress and box spring into the bedroom.

Because i just cant stop laughing about somebodies stupidity. btw you are old enough to know a net of lies will always collaps... LOL

even when I told him to leave he stayed and I actually realized ( and am very thankful) I do have a lot of really good friends, who care about me and are there for me no matter what and a family that Loves me AND even when I refuse to see it .. He does Love me and yesterday may have been sad and pretty tragic but most of all I was not alone... and today I am still not alone.. more so Even though I have had a string of bad things happening, and have chosen to allow some real nutters into my life, who I have had to fight to remove.. I am actually really very blessed..

Not so much happy but a bit more optimistic about the future

Oh and because the new guy who started in our office on Monday, came out for a drink with us Tuesday and disappeared without a trace on Wednesday has turned up in the office. So he isn’t lay dead in a ditch somewhere.

Because I've found an old song whose lyrics describes *exactly* how I am feeling about everything in my life at the moment and it's so weird that it sums everything up so perfectly! And it's helped me realise what I thought I want is not what I want after all.

Because Emily, the Three-Legged Mighty Hunter is an absolutely adorable cat and has decided to live with us. She's currently hiding away inside her box sleeping, probably a bit indignant at her adventure.

Looking forward to hearing of more tales of derring do from Emily.

Because there are probably fewer greater feelings in the world, than driving along a country road, with the top of your car down, the sun shining and your favourite songs on the radio. What a lovely surprise for a Saturday afternoon.

I managed to repair our dish washer. The blocked circulation pump is working again. However, the bearings seem to be damaged. Now the beast sounds like a helicopter. I think I have to replace them or buy a new used e-bay pump.

Because I can now try to rebuild a modicum of self-respect and get back a bit of confidence in myself.

I am happy because Emily has already made the transition to her new home, occupied the cat tree and chosen a window perching spot, scouting the territory and memorizing possible mouse hideaways.

I'm happy because Emily seems to be settling in and has already stolen our hearts with her purring and affectionate cuddling. (By the way, that paw under her head is the left hind paw, the left front paw having gone walkabouts)

Oh my, she looks content. I'm happy that she's in the home of a TTer and we can keep hearing about the adventures of Emily, theTLMH (the Three Legged Mighty Hunter).

i had a wonderful vacation, and when i came back i went to my first SnB - it was awesome!! now i am insanely inspired to learn how to knit more.

...because I signed a book contract today. Six months ago I wouldn't have imagined this opportunity.

My 3 year old told me he was happy to see me and he'd missed me after being away for the last week. Maybe the Mama, mama , mama days are coming to an end.

I got my kiddo fix today as well, and the world looks a lot better than it did this morning. (After vacation with me at my mom's and travelling they get to hang out with dad for a week, but I was invited over for bbq tonight). The kiddo fix makes everything else pale in comparison.

I´m happy because I got pulled over for a traffic control on my way home just now and they made me do an alcohol test (they asked if I would do a voluntary one, but it didn´t feel very voluntary the way the guy was squinting at me). Anyway, it started out pretty scary, but after my papers and breath were in order, they all just wanted to pet my dog and oohed and aahed over him. Funny enough, he seems less scared of policemen than of normal men. Does this reflect on their (lack of) manliness? Probably not, because they were pretty cute.

The rumble of Harleys keep going by.
Sadly, I'm no longer in college when at Harley's 100th celebration one of my classes was let out early since we couldn't hear over the parade going from the State Fair grounds to the Lake.

On a good note the bikers have been awesome and lots of fun. Last night some were saying they don't get why people like Daytona's bike thing and since that doesn't "truly capture the essence of the bike, especially a Harley. This (Milwaukee and Harley's anniversary/bday parties) is where it's at".
They're doing a great job so far with the "rumble not roar" compaign Harley has out so when the bikers are going through residential neighborhoods they're not too bad.

I'm especially happy remembering this--
Last night some bikers put a Harley Bandana and hat on my dog and took photos of him sitting on their bike while we were at the lakefront. No clue why they wanted to, but they asked if they could and I was doing something else so my roommate (she had my dog at the moment) said yes. I came back to see Bren sitting on a Harley all decked out like a biker dog. Mighty entertaining. Some guy came up when Bren was off the bike and Bren lifted his leg to pee on that guys bike. The Harley guys who wanted Bren on their bike told Bren he was awesome since I guess the bike wasn't a Harley so "Bren knows his stuff and is truly a Milwaukee dog" (said as they let him drink some of their MGD.

Because the lumpsided rag-bag of a cat that I have been boarding for the last ten days almost deigned to sit on my lap this morning and acutally let me pat her.

Then again, she hissed at me for standing next to her in the hallway.
