Cos it's always nice to realise how dumb people are.

I'm happy because (yesterday) I received my Aufenthaltserlaubnis along with the permission to work as a language trainer here, after 14 months of nonsense paperwork, slow officials and many renewals of a Fiktionsbescheinigung. I was beginning to lose hope, but now I'm official, baby!

Aside from that, I've had one kick-ass day.

Not exactly happy but relieved: I have sold my huge bed and possibly the Eckbank.

Because some people do listen and i just want to say thanks so thanks...

after some (or a lot) of margaritas i'm having a great sex convo (about sex, not phone sex) with a friend. i love his perspective this is mighty entertaining!

My cherry tomatoes are beginning to get ripe, I had the first one yesterday - sunwarm, fresh off the vine, aromatic and tasty!

Cos i've just ordered a Red Cross parcel including English bread, bacon, Tizer and lots of brown sauce.

...because, despite so many people around me currently being unhappy with their lives, I just can't stop smiling about my own.

Because, despite several long-term injuries and just having come off the diclo, the sport I've done in the last week hasn't caused me any pain. Well... only good pain.

Because there are good times (parties, festivals, family visits, oktoberfest, TT meet-ups, and the odd repair-job) programmed as far as the eye can see.

Because, despite being such a terrible dad, my daughter still loves me.

I think I need new glasses.

I booked my trip home for christmas! It'll be two years since I have seen my family, and I am looking forward to a cold chilly frozen winter home!

i'm happy because i was able to have a nice long convo with my boyfriend both yesterday and today (due to an ocean and 7hr time diff this isn't always possible). Also, I found one of my dream jobs and in a place i'd like to be! now just to decide between Boulder, CO and Munich... sigh...

I'm happy because I think it's really cool that my kids are playing tennis at the Olympia Park this week and when I drop them off I just think it's cool that facilities like that are just a hop away and open to the public. I'm mainly happy that I got them both into the course for the week!

Because I have on my new silk top from Banana Republic that Cookie, the darling gal that she is, brought back from the US for me.
Because there is such a thing as 24-hour full service availability.
Because the slacker's biergarten and TTTues was really good fun.

Because today is the last time I take the S1 home from work. No more suitcases in the aisle, no more crashed out tourists spread across four seats, no more struggling to stay awake in the stuffy heat.

Then again, no more late night/early morning rag-collector party-on atmosphere to tide me over until my stop comes up.

And to top it all off, one of the good canteens had a steak and mushroom pie on today. It was bloody lovely!!!

I'm happy today because I have a job interview in Berlin!

I'm coming back to Germany in ten days to finally get married! Yeah!

I'm happy although I am effectively blind at the moment there will be no permannt damage to my eye, be able to take the dressing off tomorrow,

Because it's nearly the weekend and I'm going to look at a wicked cool Alfa Romeo Spider, which is being sold at a bargain price. So excited!!

Oh, islandchick, I always wanted one of those. I almost bought one back in 1995 (used, of course) until I drove it - horrible to drive, take a look at an old Z3, much better.

Because I finally cleared the last hurdle to my new job and received a work and residence permit good through 2011!

And, as luck would have it, I just realized that it is now exactly two years to the day since my arrival in Germany! How's that for timing?

Because the English Garden admin called this morning to say that the plaque has been attached to The Bench. Once I've got myself moved this weekend I'll go down and sit on it.

on my way to work NPR Story corps started and it had a sweet old couple telling the story of how they met. The guy is 96 and "still here because the devil doesn't want me". They have been married for 67years and still madly in love.

because I can finally pack my luggage and mach Urlaub!!!

Because it's Friday, I had a brilliant day at work, this weekend I get to sign up for my Carnival costume and on Sunday I go to look at that Alfa Spider. Kitkat64 has me a bit worried, but I'm keeping everything crossed. PLUS I have a short week next week, since I've booked three days off. YAY!!!
