I am happy because I get my new piano on Saturday!

After living here 4 years without one, I'll finally get to play regularly again (that is if my practicing doesn't interfere too much with OG's rugby watching )

Because I only worked half a day today and I have tomorrow off in honor of Independence Day!

You get a day off just to go to the movies?

That would be cool... I should put that in our suggestiont box. I should make a suggestion box...

Because my boss told me to stop working for now and to go for a relaxing bike ride since I was so productive today!!!

Because I will be starting my new job in SFO in 3 weeks having been offered the position today with more money and benefits than I requested.

Not happy so much as just made me smile a little. While going through a bunch of stuff I found a ToytownMunich.com card that I remember picking up at the English Video store back in the fall of 2002. I wonder if it is worth anything? Maybe I should try to sell it on here.

I've recently found out my body does not tolerate grains very well. Although it's been difficult, I'm now bread free for four days now and my body is feeling much better.

Boy, am I happy that I sold my shares and put my money in Euros (from GBP) nine months ago .

And I'm happy because, after months of being told that it's hard to find a German B2 language exam, my school has now rounded up enough people to offer one . Strangely the learning feels much easier with a specific goal to aim for .

While vanity googling for my dogs (don't we all?), I stumbled across this photo from 2004:



That's my daughter Freya, about 3.5, wrestling Asterix for his frisbee. The photo makes me happy for many reasons. It's a reminder of the times when she used to live with me. She's got no pants on, which could be because she had an accident, but if I remember correctly, she'd been playing in the creek at the dog-club and was soaked.

There's also the "What are you on? This is my toy" look on Asterix's face. But the thing that made me laugh out loud is that I'm so happy I can trust my dog in this situation, where some other dog-owners would probably be shocked. Yes, Asterix has his tail up, but unless he's working or sleeping, he's always got his tail up. Note that although he's probably hot and has just been chasing frisbees, he's careful not to show his teeth to her. Asterix is a dog I would never be afraid to let sleep on my child's bed.

Oh, and thanks to Katrina for bringing my attention to the Australia-France rugby game which ended most satisfactorily.

Happy today because I've made some friends in Munich and I didn't have to go into freezing water yesterday.

I am happy because Cleo, my new cat, has once again nuked Hexi the Farting Tom who is twice her size.

Cos i've got a well deserved hangover after a great night out with good friends.

Because my kids have started talking to each other in English occasionally.

I am even happier because I moved my PC from the spare room/office back to the livingroom and reconnected the printer instead of relying on the Belkin printer router and my local and internet strength is now back to 5 bars instead of 2 and instable.

Cos I shockingly don't have a hangover after the same (just a different group though )

I may be banned for exceeding the 4% happy mark but I have got all the pictures down, my computer desk dismantled and the oven cleaned within an inch of its life after I had figured out how to remove the door.

Because I had the most fabulous weekend in the Alps with my boyfriend. And I have the pictures to prove it.

Just be careful where you get your camera/phone repaired!

Because I had the best weekend with my girl butterbean, the All Blacks won, the French lost and this Wimbledon final is just incredible!

I just got a call from England, and they want me for some lectures there... cool!

Cos i managed tp park up at the Ostbahnhof and nip in and out to get my essentials without paying 1.80 for the privilege of parking for 5 mins.

Small victory in the scheme of things i know but a victory nonethless.

What a great day involving lots of free food and hot guys in uniform. And I met two TTers! And now I need to not get my hopes up so much but I think I already did ... Only bad thing is that blister on my heel. Ahhhh...

I am on holidays now, no work til the 21st. A much deserved and needed break, and where I am flying to for a week is sunny and warm!

The Nelly Furtado concert was actually kinda fun. Go figure.

Because smelly dog lady, who is also exceedingly nosy, is out on a training course for two whole days! I predict a much lighter mood in the office. Lord knows I'm already happier than I've been in weeks...the last time of which was when she was off for a WHOLE week!!

Because my research fellowship was extended for another year.
