So today at my local airfield we were discussing the shortage of gliding instructors in our flying club & (worse still) the last of prospective candidates. As usual some clown suggested me to which I responded "too old". Up pipes S..., a really nice girl in her 30s who is (a) learning to fly & (b) is the club treasurer: you cannot be too old - must have a "4" at the front or only just a "5". Went down like oil as they say here (I'll be 56 in a few weeks...).

Today, I am happy that I am not a dog. If I were a dog, I might be out with my friends and one of them might decide to pee on my face. As a person, this has never happened to me.
because this posting made me laugh out loud. It also made me miss my god-dog a little, though.

Because I got a very precious cargo back from Birmingham with Lufthansa. The newly inherited canteen of cutlery? The tasty Lancashire cheese? This month's Rugby World? Nope the most precious of all: Vogel's Soy and Linseed is now sold by Tesco. The best sliced bread in the world is now in my flat. Bought the entire stock for my freezer. Lush bready perfection is now mine.
If you've ever seen a woman hug a loaf in a supermarket while close to tears of joy, you were in Coventry stadium branch last night.
And paired with marmite this morning, it was toastful heaven.

had 3 successful classes tonight! Puppy, beginning manners, and intermediate manners (generally the classes are always good, but I also generally am not in as "guest intstructor" with a few other trainers observing as was the case tonight). I was able to work all day, rush home, work with my roommates dog to start conditioning stress and calming signals, then go and work on some jump sequences with Brennan and still have time for playing. After that was 3.5 hours of teaching.
Some of the other instructors have decided to try to emulate some aspects of my classes due to the structure covering more, sharing more info with students, and higher student satisfaction. It was nice to be asked to go in and help them this session so we can, hopefully, get a stronger program (that is if i don't leave there due to possibly a new instructor coming in who i do not agree with her training methods since they do not mesh with learning theory and behavior mod. methods).

Because the lawn is being mowed right outside my office window, the sound and smell of which reminds me of summer when we were living with my grandparents in Boulder, Colorado.
On the other hand, it is a bit of a bummer that the mini-poppies are being mowed down, but they will grow back.

Happy happy, joy joy. It's a beautiful warm spring day, I've got a good evening of sport to look forward to, I'm losing weight, my shoulder has stopped hurting, so hopefully I can start climbing again sometime soon. Slacklining has got me feeling fantastically focussed and balanced.
Oh, and I had cyber-sex for the first time last night. But #me doesn't think that's got anything to do with my state of mind. #me actually finds the whole idea pretty fucking weird.

Bacause I had a nice evening with my bf and my Dad yesterday.
Still laughing cos' my Dad (after having persuaded the waitress to pour some more Eierlikör over his icecream) told the waitress that the urologist to whom he will have to give a urine sample today might claim that he was asking for a urine sample, not for an Eierlikör sample...
I could have died of embarrassment, but decided to rather laugh about it

I'm happy because I am completely done with school for the semester (all exams and everything). Because I will have freshly washed clothes tonight (that don't smell weird because I'm washing them at my friend's house instead of mine, our washing machine sucks), and because I was able to fit everything into the box to send to Germany on Friday. Now let's hope that the truck strike will be over soon, so my box will actually be taken home!

After work Bren and I had a great time meeting with a friend and working on agility. It was the first time we ran courses outside! Bren was great. He wasn't as distracted as i thought he'd be and had some more speed. We still have things to work on, but today was really good and if we would've been at a trial he would've qualified if one of his runs. Now... we just have to become more consistent (more like I have to get better handling skills)

because the tornado sirens are going off in downtown Milwaukee- this is the 3rd time in a week. It's been years since they've gone off down here before this! i'm happy because so far work isn't making us go sit in the hallway. If they do that would definitely add to my crap day.
happy thoughts- go home, go to the kennel club and work on agility then go home to a good meal and perhaps wine (happiest thought- today ending)
edit 15min later- Damn it now they’re moving us to the hallway few floors down!!! They better not damn it.
A tornado spotted in the Milwaukee area.

Because some twat squeezed his car into a tiny gap between me and the car infront, narrowly missing the other car that was next to me.. ( we were all moving slowly at the time in heavy traffic) I sounded my Horn and expressed my dissatisfaction with his manoever, so did the guy next to me..
Me being the guy I am, "tapped my finger on my forehead" when the offender started to Jesticulate at me in his mirror!
Said bald headed bloke then Unbuckles his seat belt, opens his door, steps out and starts to walk towards me...
I also get out of my van...
The look on the blokes face was a Gem!!
The little jerk just turned on his heals and got back in his car!
I smilled for quite a while after that.. so did the driver of the car next to me!!

I am happy because Emily, the Three-Legged Hunter, came home with a huge mole in her mouth and it was still alive and flailing (= not quite kicking). I quickly separated the two, threw Emily inside and the mole into the field across the street where it dug itself a hole within 20 seconds.

Because I put my elbow on the antenna box remote control, it changed station and then I realised that I had more channels than I used to have on the thing. Having ORF 1 & 2 again, especially with the football on, makes me very very happy. No idea how this has happened, especially as isn't listed on the DVB-T website, but Servus anyway.
