Why are you happy today?

I am off to meet a girlfriend for lunch, then have a manicure and pedicure booked, then a rush home get all guzzied up for a really neat Murder Mystery dinner tonight with some really cool people.

Because my pickled onions are delicious after steeping for three weeks in a mix of apple cider vinegar and brown sugar along with pickling spices, cinnamon and star aniseed. You can't eat more than one at a time, though; the proportions need working on.

And my potted herbs in our handkerchief-sized garden are coming along nicely, especially the coriander.

and I taught the other one to ride a bicycle yesterday. So all in all a very successful Dad week.

My car, despite all it's costly problems, passed it's emissions test.
Oh, did i mention my boss along with a quarter of headquarters staff are in Houston for ASQ's world conference until mid next week? wahoo!!!

Because I've got the entire house to myself this afternoon!

I've learned enough German to make fun of my boyfriend's step-father's Plaatdeutsch today at the lunch table. Oh, how I love to watch that overgrown man squirm with embarrassment after all these months of him teasing me whenever I make a mistake.

Also, I'm going to meet my boyfriend at the train station tonight after hardly seeing him all week -- and the first thing we're going to do is go out for doener! w00t!

My computer is back home from the 'puter hospital and no more crashes!!! So I can now spend inordinate amounts of my time sitting on my arse reading and writing on the internet .

My day finished very well... surprisingly!!! and I have a date with a very very cute guy!!

i got a job that is about a billion times better than the one i have now!!!

Just returned from an exhausting 2-day trip to UK where the main objective was to attend a concert in Reading by the folk-rock group Steeleye Span (now in their 29th year).

After the concert we were waiting in the foyer just to say "Hi" to Peter Knight (who we have met on several occasions) when he came by with a few people in tow & said "follow me" so we did - into the catacombs & eventually (he got lost on the way) into the dressing room where we were to help eat the remains of the buffet...

A bit late but I had a great evening and early morning yesterday!

...because I had a lonely but lovely lazy breakfast in my bed - which is one of the most beautiful places in the whole wide world

I am happy because I found HP sauce at HIT in Oberschleißheim. Personally, I can't be bothered with the stuff but Scogs has been on HP withdrawal for five weeks and will be much easier to live with now.

Because I went to do a bit of retail therapy to cheer myself up and ended buying a gorgeous DKNY bag and had a fantastic lunch in Oberpollinger. Yummy!

Because the dentist found the cause for the pains in my eye socket and nose - an infection in the sinus of the upper jaw. Now to the ENT to have him do something about it.

No fillings for me!

I had an enjoyable curry with some great friends tonight, was a nice end to a long day.
Was really funny at the restaurant, when 3 of the waiting staff asked 'only 3?' Guess they are so used to seeing a few familiar faces on wed with the larger Curry nights.
and my cousing is safe for now in Afgahanstan.

Cos people just can't help themselves. Comedy gold.

Cos i've just agreed a contract end date of 6th June and then i'm out of bloody Bristol and back to Munich.

I am happy because I am going for a looong weekend road trip with a friend to Slovenia and the Croatian coast. My car is vacuumed and washed and doesn´t look like a dog lives in it. It will stay like that for the next 5 days. The sofa is also miraculously free of doggy hairs. Sadly, I will miss my Nuggilupigous, but I feel kind of like a kid who doesn´t have to go to school. No 7 a.m. pee walks!

Edit: Good news, bluedave, Munich has missed you.

another beautiful, warm, sunny day in Munich and I get to leave early and enjoy it Also - another public holiday on Monday. Woot!

one of my best mates has come over from bavaria for the weekend in glasgow, brought me weissbiers, a nice weissbier glass and some milka. absolutely thrilled.

I forgot to post this yesterday: I am happy because two Germans came to my assistance when I needed it most, regardless of any damage they may have sustained in the process. There are good, helpful, kind people out there.

Cos I flew my first cross-country flight of this year - maybe only 166kms (even if others in my club flew over 400kms) but at least I got back home ...

Well, after the trauma of my return from Munich, it's a nice day in England and I've just got back from the Trafford Centre. Felt really happy driving along in my car, my iPod blasting and singing along to some of my favourite music. Maybe life isn't so shit after all!!

Because my 25-year wait is finally over. Fraggle Rock is going to be made into a live-action musical movie.

Just got back home to Munich after flying back from Bristol.

Was feeling miserable cos i hate the slog of 2 flights via Amsterdam and arrived at the airport to be told KLM had overbooked and i was on standby.

Cue lots of whining about connecting flight to Munich etc and next thing i know they have rerouted me via Paris CDG instead.

Normally not a pleasant alternative but due to tight connections, i was escorted past the waiting hoy paloy at customs and security directly to the gate, met by a car at CDG, driven to my next gate via VIP customs and placed in my own row in Business Class to relax for the flight to Munich.

Real knifes and forks, filet of beef dinner and any drinks i wanted and me's been pampered and treated like a pop star.

Just to add to the service, Air France arranged for a son et lumiere storm as we approached Munich with some rock n roll turbulence.

Gonna feel crap when i join the queues for cattle class on monday morning though...

i heard from the breeder and all is good-phew!
it looks like we can get our pup a week from friday!!! wow... now to sort it out. yay!

I am happy because when some bible pushers rang the doorbell today my daughter told them that we don't live by the bible, we believe in karma and shit like that.

its the weekend, and I am meeting some absolutely fabulous people tonight for yummy cocktails.

I'm happy because its a day closer to moving flats... yay!

because Canada will play our arch enemy in the gold final on sunday. The Russians, glad the Russians kicked some Finnish ass! I love watching Russian Canadian Games, the best hockey around in the world.
