Because I am investing €150 (including freight, insurance and express delivery) in a super-duper carpet beating vacuum cleaner as I am sick and tired of cream-colored carpets covered with black cat hair.
Yes, it would be cheaper to ditch the cats, and they aren't even chipped.

Because even though I too am feeling like death (and have been for about two weeks), today's my last day of work for nine whole glorious days. I get my guy all to myself (meaning no in-laws! that in itself merits a celebration!) every day and every night for over a week without him having to dash off at odd hours to give people tickets! Yay!
And congrats bluedave, hope it works out.

Because it is Friday, sunny, and I get off work in an hour! And my car seat got repaired so that I can lean against it again and don't have to stay upright by gripping the steering wheel when I accelerate (same problem that I had with the passenger seat in the Fall) -- the mechanics told me I shouldn't move the seat so much. But in a car with two doors, how do you get the dog in the backseat otherwise?
Anyway, it is fixed, and they aren't even charging me for it! Woohoo!

Because my cousin had her baby, a girl named Sophie, today. Love how my cousins planned their babies for when I am living abroad.

Cousin #1's baby #1 was born in October 2004, while I was living in the States, Cousin #2's baby #1 in September 2007 (when I was already in Spain), and now cousin #1's baby #2 today (still in Spain)! Glad they're doing well, though, that's all that matters. And cousin #3 just sent me a

I’m happy because the person who for over a year has threatened my girlfriend with the sack and generally made her life hell because he ‘loves her’ and ‘cant bear to see her with anyone else’ even though she wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot barge pole, no longer has any control over her.

Oh, not really. They're cute, and I am all like awww whenever I see one, but sadly they only come as a cute, pooping, crying version. Not sure I am ready for that just yet.

I think I'd be happy if I could just babysit one of my cousins' babies sometimes. Maybe this summer. (At least the one that was born yesterday, my other cousin lives in Cologne.)

I am extremely happy because I decided to go against my dermatologist's advice and started using cortisone cream on my face which has made my allergic rash get better within a couple of days, as opposed to this past year of on-and-off "Really Bad Face Days".
