Because those last two posts show that Ricky Gervais was right all along. Oh how I laughed when I read them. My friends thought the posts were so funny too and well-meant which made them even funnier. Makes my day.

thanks Scuzbucket for your concern, I am touched that a newbie would use their first post to take a shot at me. I am deeply touched.

I'm happy because even though I didn't want to go to my strenous Bauch, Bein, and Po class I went and was able to walk out on my own to feet. Then after the class I jogged for 30 minutes on the treadmill. I gave my trainer a nice bottle of American wine for Christmas to thank him for helping me to stay in shape. He also caters to my inability to speak German very well as he speaks English to me in the class so I can correctly do the exercises.
Because I made a really good batch of Fish and Chips.

I am happy because all of the presents are wrapped and under the tree, I got to hold my little niece earlier on today and she smiled and brabbled and danced, and I am not rushed off my feet due to good preparation and shopping when the shops weren't full to bursting. Today I prepare the carrots to be glazed tomorrow, marinade the potatoes, cook the pumpkin pie, concoct the mousse au chocolat and put my feet up.

Huge UK christmas dinner with guests on Christmas eve, and *yum yum* non-traditional BBQ steaks for christmas dinner tomorrow, more than enough presents under the tree for the kids and knowing how lucky we are. Decently priced shoes for the boys leaving room in the budget for a pair of shoes for mommy

relaxing and enjoying family and all the BS that goes with it. And - most of all - everyone telling me that the fog delays at heathrow will be over with by the time I fly out next sunday !

just had a great convo with my parents in Canada, and the got the christmas presents and they like them and I sent them special CDs of my recent trip to Vietnam and Cambodia labelled, and they hooked up the TV and got to do the trip with me, and were really happy to be included in my life.
Although I am sad, I am not home to celebrate with them and am 7 time zones away, I feel really happy to know that we are so close at this time of the year.
oh, and the fun Christmas Eve party with the TT group was great too!

Spent a nice day with a good friend and her kids ice skating, and then hit the polish butcher to get some frozen perogies and some kubasa. The Kubasa tastes awesome! Glad Renia showed me the shop and then I found a Cilantro plant so, now I can make a nice salsa for new years eve.

Because I just had a really strenuous but exciting and fun day skiing, with great company, fantastic snow and weather conditions and hardly anyone else on the slopes, and because on the way home I still managed to stop off at the new sports shop on Theresienhöhe and allow myself to be talked into a pair of supa dupa new skis - which I get to try out tomorrow. I had the comfirmation (yet another one ... ) of why I left my country 9 years ago...Popped in the village next to my place and a few minutes later I witnessed a family feud with knifes etc...after living in Munich for 3 years I must say that it took me a while to realise that I was not dreaming!!! and I was happy to hear from one of of the hot tempered women fighting that WE WOMEN FROM MAURITIUS ARE STRONG AND WONT LET ANY MEN WALK ON US... but sadly once again because of my white skin I was labelled as a white girl ... Anyway I am happy because despite all of this...I am SO PROUD to be Mauritian and African!!! by the way the police came and I manage to get a pic with them...ohhh guys in uniform!!!

I got pulled over by the polizei for the first time tonight while driving home from my tram stop that I use to get from G-wald to Munich center, so that made me unhappy because I've only ever been pulled over once in my life before this and it just makes me nervous, even though I had no reason to worry.
What made me really happy was that 1) my German wasn't TOO bad, even with my nervousness, 2) the look on the guy's face when I handed him a Texas driver's license was priceless, 3) he was very nice and friendly and let me go without too much interrogation, and 4) he was absolutely GORGEOUS. Ahhh, polizei.
