Today I saw what I've thought for some time now was only a wild rumour - a german wearing white socks and sandals in the office.
Was one of those situations where you reel off a crap joke just so you can burst out laughing and get it out your system.

Yeah I did that too earlier, and they were all from one person.

Was about time I did this, haha. Add to that about the same amount of sent e-mails, though with Yahoo's unlimited storage it hardly matters now how many e-mails you store.

I have finally moved, and I got my deposit back! Have already unpacked everything and tomorrow I'm going to IKEA to buy the last few things to make my new room mine.

And I finally got my books from Amazon!
P.S. Who on earth tried to call my German cellphone 14 (!) times this morning at 7am?!

Merlin passed his CGC tonight!!! It's for both the dog/handler so he passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test!!!

(not a title, just an award but still!)
I'm pretty proud of him considering 9 weeks ago he didn't have a name, wasn't housetrained, and didn't know a single thing!
Also, he worked well with some other people while I taught my first class of the night and for the second he was an angel in the ring with me and even demoed some stuff that he doesn't really know yet, but you defo fooled some people!
On top of it all I got the go ahead to start planning a few new classes I'd like to teach and I even have the backing of some of the higher up people! yay!
Today was definately a good dog day!
oh, and in 11 days (now probably closer to 10) i'll be in Munich with one of my favorite non-4 legged companions

Had a great evening and yummy dinner with a couple of friends in my great new apartment!

And I went to IKEA yesterday so my room looks really nice now, though I might go there again for a few more things (I love IKEA!) and I got a new ep of Heroes and House to watch. (Let's just ignore all that school work that is piling up until tomorrow...)
And because my mood in general is just better since I have moved!
Oh yeah, after I moved in I found out I have a balcony, except they're doing work on the facade right now so it can't be used, but I hope by the time spring comes they will be done... gotta love those little surprises.

I don't get this. Why are they trick-or-treating now? Halloween isn't for another 3 days.
Mariposa
Oct 28 2007, 11:53 am
ER I think in some towns or cities they do trick-or-treating on the weekend because during the week people are working and kids are in school, so when Halloween does not fall on a weekend they just move it to the weekend before Halloween.
mere
Oct 28 2007, 2:59 pm
Thanks Mariposa- that's correct!
Many places don't even do night time trick-or-treat, especially in the city. I live in one of the odd Milwaukee neighborhoods that still does.
Yups, it was yesterday (where i grew up and some other suburbs have it today) due to Wednesday being a school/work night. There are still some communitites that do it on Halloween. I could be wrong, but i think they have become more the exception than the rule (at least around where I live and many other larger cities).

Just got a call from some guys in the military, they'll be visiting Munich tonight and offered to bring whatever my heart desires from the base! This is so awesome with Thanksgiving just around the corner. Of course, I had to request Cheetos!

@L8knight - ooh, I'm jealous. I was just wondering who I could find that had a connect at a base. I need some Yankee Candles!!
But, whatever, I'm happy because last night I discovered that I have NASN (N.American Sports Network) on my TV at home and I got to watch the final game (after I knew the final score) of the World Series between my beloved Red Sox and the Rockies (the Red Sox, won, of course).

Is silly how a wee compliment can brighten your day.
Because a French guy in the street asked me last night for a cigarette.
Said no sorry and smiled.
He replied "Oh of course not, you can see you don't smoke, you have such beautiful teeth and a nice smile."

That's a sweet thing to say. Frenchmen can be so charming.
We should all appreciate the compliments we get. My mother always said, "take a compliment as is, smile and say thank you and never look a gift horse in the mouth".

Also, this was the last term paper I had to write for credit for my English major before my MA thesis. Provided I didn't totally screw this paper up and somehow manage to fail, I would now be "scheinfrei" in English Literature.
