sea-king
Thanks, I can buy that new hat at last! Yes! smile.gif
Lavender Rain
I'm happy because I spent the day in Munich shopping and getting my haircut and I had a champagne breakfast at my friends amazing apartment in Schwabing that was really great.
Mariposa
Because I just got home literally two minutes before it started pouring down. smile.gif
jeremy
Because my son is feeling better after his two jabs he had to have yesterday and I racked(syphoned my home made cider today. I found out it has an alcohol content of 5.4%. Not bad.

And I pulled a 3kg (6lb) marrow out of my veg bed.

Welsh man
I'm getting married though in exactly 2 1/2 weeks. Wow how time flys
sarabyrd
Hence the stag night last weekend. All the best to you and your sweetheart!
Welsh man
well thank you very much biggrin.gif
Memo
I am happy and proud. My little brother became the art director on location (for Turkey, of course) in the new Tom Tykwer movie. I have a brother in IMDB biggrin.gif
sarabyrd
1) I picked up my vouchers for the FANSEE today.
2) I held a short telephone conversation in Spanish today.
3) I understood a Portuguese telephone message today.
4) The sun is shining today.
5) And on Sunday, I made Obatzda from scratch for the first time and it was better than most I have had at various Wirtshäuser but not quite as good as the best (Hofbräuhaus of all places).

Plexus Mexico is so nice! i just spent the past 15-20min on the phone straightening out somethings and they were great and we managed to make it work with my crappy Spanish. Plexus in Korea on the other hand is a pain in the butt!

oh, and i think little mister foster dog is slowly going to settle/calm down and hopfully stop peeing all over by this weekend.

and i have a tolerant and great dog and boyfriend.
g24
I had a lovely afternoon with the boys!! They were on good form as I bought a Dirndl, took them to play at Munchener Freihart, then walked through the English Garden in the lovely sun. Then we all ate ice cream on the S-Bahn home. Angels today, Devils tomorrow probably.

And you have your priorities right.
Katrina
Because Edeka is stocking big potatoes at last.
Yeah, I know, simple pleasures for simple people and all that, but getting a sizable spud for a baked potato isn't always that easy in Germany, folk tend to want to buy the wee boilers instead and then peel them when they are still burning hot using those special forks and knives (something I will never, ever understand - peeling them cold will not burn your hands and eating the skin will not kill you, well, if it isn't green but I digress).
The big spud, crispy from the oven, soothing with fluffy wholesomeness, is a fine thing.
Baked beans and Red Leicester cheese?
Coleslaw?
Just butter?
That Exquisa à la Elsässer Flammkuchen or indeed the new Almette Saison with alpine herbs?
Decisions, decisions...
Renia
I can´t find that Flammkuchen Exquisa anywhere in my area sad.gif or at Hertie, Kaufhof either! (sorry, this should be in Why are you unhappy today!)
Welsh man
I'm happy because a colleague came back from UK today and brought me Cadburys milk chocloate and 3 tins of mushy peas biggrin.gif
frizzyjen
Because I'm going back to the UK tonight for the weekend! Woohoo!!!
Rilana
because today is my last day in the office. In about half an hour I shall be heading to the pub, for my leaving drinks & the goodbyes which go with that and then I have 2 months off. 2 months of no work, being free and actually finally getting a glimpse of the friggin sun. I just can't wait! Weds I fly to Portugal for a month and after that I'll be off to Cali for a month and ok then back to the real world of work etc. but 2 months off! YEY! I have been waiting for this day for so long...have been counting down the last 2 months and now it is finally here biggrin.gif

oh - and so that of course means I'll be offline for a while..so I'll see you all in November again. cool.gif
Mariposa
Have a fabulous vacation Rilana! smile.gif I'll talk to you in November then, gosh, I will have been in Spain two months by then. ohmy.gif
Rilana
Gracias guapa! Will do! Have a fabulous time in Spain and I'll be in touch when I have pc/internet access. Shall do my bestest to keep facebook updated with photos as and when I have the opportunity! biggrin.gif
Mariposa
Thank you! I'll check FB for pics from you then, and I'll try to upload some from Spain as well. smile.gif
Rilana
excellent - anyway, pub is calling so I need to move my butt.

Have fun hon
sarabyrd
Have a great time, Rilana, say hi to the Pacific for me.
I am happy because my hyper-garlic-sensitive co-worker now off on sick leave has a stash of olive oil and balsamico vinegar and I used it on my tomato-mozzarella-basil lunch as I forgot to buy dressing on the way to work.
the Boy From Bozlem
because coffee and Brandy for breakfast is a great way of stopping yourself from going to work biggrin.gif
the Boy From Bozlem
beacause i just went to the house im supposed to be working in today and found out i dont have the right key for the door. This means i get to drink work at home all day today biggrin.gif
the Boy From Bozlem
because cats are funny and the oven is clean biggrin.gif
HEM
...just returned from an excellent 2 weeks relaxing holiday on Ibiza.
Did rain on occasions though - esp the last day (Friday) with a torrential downpour in the night. Must be a bit unusual for August ...
mere
do the cat and clean oven have a correlation?
the Boy From Bozlem
kind of. I was cleaning the oven when this cat came into the kitchen so i gave it a big wad of ham which it ran off down the garden with hanging from its mouth like a big tongue.

kinda like this ------> tongue.gif

but a bit more cat, ham and tongue like biggrin.gif
mere
got it!

i'm happy at the moment because the past 30 min have been peaceful. both dogs are sleeping, or at least lying down. Mr. Merlin isn'e in my face trying to climb all over me or still testing his boundaries with Brennan. I know I should take the little guy out since he's still learning to pee/mark outside and not inside, but i don't want to disturb this peace. it's too nice.
Mariposa
I'm happy because I finally finished my very much hated term paper!!! Go me! And because I am going out for Mexican food & cocktails tonight, mmmm...
Lavender Rain
Because I didn't want to exercise today, but managed to hike for 5 miles.
EmptySuitcase
I found a new room, and the location is: great. First it was supposed to be a temporary solution, only: September. But TODAY it was extended for even after October, which is great!

Isn't that enough reason to be happy? biggrin.gif
Sin
I've experienced my step-daughter's life from the age of 5 to 12, and I've now experienced my son from birth to 4, so by my warped reckoning I think I've got a parental age of 12 total (I think you should get multiplications for kids, so next year I'll be 2 more parental years older), and I have to say that 4 is the best age. They're wonderful, aren't they?
Mariposa
I am almost done packing, but my suitcase is about 2-3kg too heavy (and so is my carry-on). Let's hope they are not too strict about it. Damn, packing for 4 months and summer, fall and winter is hard when you can only take one suitcase!
Anyway, still happy I am as good as done with the packing. biggrin.gif
sarabyrd
My plaque removal only took five minutes as opposed to the usual twelve. Flossing rules!
Katrina
Because I listened to Split Enz on the way to work and it has just lifted me, reminded me of childhood and seeing Noel Crombie on the telly and thinking nothing else could ever be as scary as Noel Crombie.
Which probably isn't wrong to be honest.
Message to my girl

sea-king
I am not quite sure if I am happy or not, I have to go to court and the resulting happiness or unhappiness will be dependent on the result. Shit! blink.gif
frizzyjen
Only today and tomorrow in work then have booked a long weekend to spend with my visiting parents, oh and its my birthday! wink.gif
thefirelane
My motorcycle is here, registered, insured, and ready to go!
Mariposa
Made it to Barcelona safely. Now I just have to find an apartment and stuff. It´s really warm here too, though kind of humid so that makes it a bit icky.
gepusiak
Today is my BIRTHDAY:)
EmptySuitcase
Happy Birthday!

My ex has his birthday today, too. I am still formulating the right phrase... something like: "you're getting older, EOC (Expired Old Crap), haha.." laugh.gif I think I will send him an sms. I know he'll love me for it! As always, btw. So, let's be happy and hug each other, sisters and brothers... rolleyes.gif
gepusiak
Gosh...pure guy...heheh but thanks a lot!
Mariposa
I just looked at an apartment, it was really nice, in a nice area, and very close to the beach. I hope I get it! Cross your fingers, please TTers! The guy will call me tonight to let me know. I think there are like two or three others who will look at it tonight, so let him pick me, me, me!
Welsh man
Mariposa

cross my fingers for you that it all works out.
sarabyrd
I am happy because I bought this gorgeous poster advertising the Hippodrom for my brother and my son and my office at home.
wahoo
August is over in 10.5 hours. Thank God.
