I am happy to be back at the office. Maybe I am still sick.
MichiS
I'm happy, because I just got a payraise biggrin.gif
Carm
because I have great friends that help support my drinking habit! ;-)
Oma Stelzbok
Because I made up for missing TTT last night. Great local beergarden find. Great catching up with some TTerin. Great dancing and teaching one to dance rolleyes.gif . Great 'last drink'(s). Great chatting up locals. Great walk home and surviving off of little sleep.
I *heart* München. wub.gif
frizzyjen
Becuase my hangover is finally starting to wear off and I'm beginning to feel human again! wink.gif
pootle
Cos I booked a days vacation tomorrow!
Lavender Rain
I had a great time in Munich the last few days and experienced Munich like I've never experienced it before. I met some very interesting people, saw a lot of the historic monuments, and went to the Kleinhesslochersee Biergarden in the English Garten for the first time. I had some wonderful vegetarian food at Prince Myshkin and the two jazz concerts were absolutely fantastic! I will definitely be back in Munich soon as I love the pulse of this city.

Because another piece of the jigsaw just came into place: Viking treasure hoard uncovered

QUOTE
The ancient objects come from as far afield as Afghanistan in the East and Ireland in the West, as well as Russia, Scandinavia and continental Europe.

The first known evidence of interaction with Afghanistani trade (trade with Chinese was already established a couple of years ago) and it is presumed that vikings trading as far east as Baghdad met with eastern traders coming west. What's the betting Japanese artifacts may one day be unearthed within a viking haul?
Panama
It really looks like those few days in Spain will be a blast. Should have taken more days of vacation.
sarabyrd
Because Haggis Junior is graduating today and looks cool in her civilized Goth attire.
frizzyjen
Hehehe... because I'm going to Dublin tonight for a weekend of drinking and debauchery!
Oma Stelzbok
@frizzyjen: just when your hangover was wearing off...
hams
I'm with you there frizzyjen, as I'm up to the same but in London. wink.gif
Wizadora
I'm more the opposite, I'll be quite happy this weekend to avoid debaucery entirely thanks to the neverending French wedding I was at last weekend

I know... slept it off last night in preparation for doing it all again! Am so giddy I just can't concentrate on work!
ian
I am happy that the it always only rains at night now. Not during beergarden hours of fuzzyness. I like this new system!
London girl
I am happy because my best friend is coing over from England for the weekend, watch out Wiesbaden...
DDBug
wow - my kids have a friend over and they told me to go to my room for half an hour, when I came out they had lit all the candles and poured me a glass of wine, set up my laptop, put a bottle next to it (my most expensive one, thank goodness they didn't open it) written out a menu for a three course meal. They just brought me a (raw) zuchini cheese salami lettuce sandwich and turned on the only song alexander has on his phone - black magic woman - my oldest put on a tie and served it - and my youngest brought out a storm touper gun to make sure no one stole me.

I feel like a ganster's girlfriend. wub.gif

I know they are mainly doing this to bribe me into letting them play on the computer tomorrow morning, but they are really trying and enjoying doing it as well.

Can't wait for the next two courses - according to the menu - "überbackene Tomaten" is the main course (I've heard the microwave go off three times already) and desert is apparently quark und früchte - I don't have any quark ... unsure.gif
mere
aww! that's cute, even if done in bribery it's still cute and fun for them (and you).
kids can be fun/good sometimes!
Eleanor Rigby
DDBug, that is both the most hilarious and the most disgusting story I've heard in a long time. You have to love those boys!
DDBug
I even have a cloth napkin!

And the three of them are watching a movie and NOT FIGHTING!

I think they have been abducted and replaced with aliens ... unsure.gif
eurovol
That is hilarious D. Makes me happy just reading it. I love the Storm Trooper part as I can see Ian doing that.
DDBug
ER - Does the disgust have to do with the raw zuchini?

My second course is arriving now - slices of tomato and salami covered in cheese, topped with a slice of bread, topped with big chunks of tomato and more cheese

cold, overnuked and rewarmed - and made with love wub.gif

Good thing I bought bread today
(turns out the 6 year old made desert... that should be good).

EDIT - oh my goodness - my 10 year old just came up speaking german with a french accent promising me a neck massage with my desert!! They must really want this game ...
the Boy From Bozlem
Because hearing the Chinese girl giggle, makes me smile biggrin.gif
Fallen Angel
huh.gif that sounds kinda pervy, but to each his own, I guess. huh.gif

I'm happy because I just called up my best friend, drunk as as skunk, and they didn't hang up on me even though they knew I was drunk and talking nonsense. biggrin.gif
Carm
I got 3 new shelving organizing units, got them all put together (without the help of a man!), cleaned and organized my apartment. Had a nice dinner with some wonderful people tonight, and I love listening to the rain falling.
eurovol
Your man hating attitude is showing. The error of your ways should not shine on the rest of the gender. wink.gif

have you put anything on them yet? I give it a week before you have to get a man in to sort them out for you.

Women, know your limit !
Carm
What? Because I know what a hammer is, and a screwdriver? That I can go pick out furniture, carry it myself on the bus and put it together? Did you know that women are allowed to go to University now a days too?
Carm

i bet it took a man to teach you tho ph34r.gif

Carm, not a single one of us real men would question your ability to DIY! Seriously, real men would look for that in a woman. It means we don't have to get up to do something that any human being should be able to do for themselves. Yeah, it can be kind of cute in the beginning, but damn it can grate in a hurry especially during football season (real and that pansy soccer)! wink.gif
Fallen Angel
Hang on- any man that expects me to do my own DIY at home... come on... I suppose I could do it by myself if needed, but ffs- if there's a guy at home, why not put him to work?
eurovol
Cause he is watching football. Duh! rolleyes.gif
Ruthie
DDBug, your kids sound super-cute!

Got a copy of a photography book for which my pop wrote the Afterword (photographer's a friend of his). It's a long and beautiful essay...

QUOTE
Under the enormous dome of the New Mexico sky, Craig and I have spent the day wandering between juniper and sandstone, around piñon and cholla, along acequias and cottonwoods. While absorbing the hard-edged light of the high desert, we've been absorbed in an animated, unscripted exchange about a wide range of photographic topics. ... But the questions I most wanted to ask remained unspoken. I didn't ask which film developer would imbue my highlights with meaning and my shadows with significance. I didn't ask what film and filter combination would render both the New Mexico sky and the autumnal cottonwood leaves the precise shades of gray that evoke the eternal in the transitory. I didn't inquire which lens design could best portray wonder, or what focal length most effectively captures the mystery of faith. Although Craig has actually done all these things, ... such questions would miss the point, rather like asking E.B. White which brand of typewriter can best describe the hope of spring contained in a January mail-order seed catalog.

My last three moves were to other countries. This time it's a whopping 25km. It just struck me how simple this one is going to be. No border, customs, time zone changes, air cargo, new languages to learn... Yippee! biggrin.gif

Class went fairly well tonight, better than last week. still not the best, but...
Tomorrow at this time i'll have gotten one of my good friends from the airport (well bus up from O'Hare), gone to the dogpark with her and sat around hanging out talking, eating pizza, and drinking wine or beer. i can't wait! i haven't seen her for 7 months!!!
perdido

Lavender Rain
It's a great day to be alive!

I'm looking forward to seeing a friend who's coming from Munich to visit today and having a great dinner at a restaurant that sits on the Regnitz river.

I'm happy because I'm back in Munich after two long weeks in Saudi Arabia.

Now all I need to figure out is where to enjoy my first Maß.
