We sat in the garden all afternoon, shifting the lounge chairs when we ran out of shade, and trying out (well, I did) four different kinds of Weißbier. Unertl was definitely the best.

The Arc apparently has smoky bacon crisps.
That and Hazza's return to the place, as quizmaster no less, is something to be cheery about.
Although he is a try-stopping bastard, I do like the old bugger.

Smoky bacon crisps though, that's important.
Recently, I had a late-night Tegenseer Helles or several with a fellow in a Schwabing dive pub.
We both were liking the dinginess and the Brummie death metal.
Were. Then we both realised that the pub appeared to be full of skinheads.
So time for another beer really.
Went to the bar and they sold crisps.
What flavour?
Smoky bacon.
Hence the protective effect of pork-tasting products kept visibly on the table is a fine thing.
Couldn't make it up really.
Plus they are my favourite flavour.

Because
Dumfries House has been saved for the nation.
This is brilliant - not just because the house, a complete and undisturbed work of the Adam brothers, John, Robert and James, and collection, including the first important commission of Thomas Chippendale, will be kept together but also because it will finally be open to the public.

NOTE: It isn't actually in Dumfries, it is in East Ayrshire, the name comes from the 5th Earl of Dumfries who comissioned the property. The seller is Johnny Bute (better known as F1/Le Mans driver Johnny Dumfries or as the Marquess of Bute) and the property even has a Robert Burns poem -
To John Kennedy, Dumfries House

good job. especially with 2 dogs you want a vacuum!

i'm elated to have my brother's dog. she's amazing. sadly, i only get her for 2 days.
i was offered a job to teach at one of the kennel clubs (so i still have to work my normal job, but still it's nice being thought a good enough trainer to lead classes and things).
My favorite part of my job is going on right now (translation review and working with the translators),
Summerfest starts today which also starts the weekly fireworks for the rest of the summer.
lastly, i only have 5 more days of waiting until my long 6month wait is over! and the next two weeks are short work weeks between no work next Wed. and taking some time off.

Don't know where to post this: Met this 2 homeless couple last evening at the bus stop. They shouted, "Give way, we are Schwerbehindert (handicapped)" (in German). I moved because they stank & they would sit on anyone if anyone stayed on the seat. Then they took out 2 bottles of beer from their plastic bag. The woman said, "Hey, but you are schwerbehindert, you shouldn't be drinking" Anyway, she proceeded to open the bottles on the curb of the bus stop so that the bottle caps drop on the bus-driveway. Very environmentally conscious that the pavement is un-littered. The man started speaking in English & the woman replied, "You are American". At that point, my bus came & I couldn't stop being amused about them being schwerbehindert et al.

Because I beat my mother in law 3-0 in our petty games. Normally she totally pisses me off and it's 0-1 to her. Tonight we went for dinner and she was desperate that I ordered the cheaper Currywurst. Now that is hard to me to turn down - I love it but I saw the doubly expensive basilikumravioli further down at 11 Euros instead of 6. Nope I insisted on the 11 Euro dish. 1-0. Then she tried to stop my sion playing with a knife at the table and banging on it. I completely ignored this although when alone I stop him normally. 2-0. Finally when I grabbed all the chips on my wife's plate as I was still hungry after eating mine she also made a shitty face. Hat trick.

My neighbors just came by with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for me because I had written down the license plate number of a car which hit their parked car, and the police were able to find the driver.

Now, just waiting on my peppers to sprout. They have tons of white flowers so am hoping they come out soon

Simpy because acquaintances become friends, and before you know it deep attachments follow - I have a going away party tomorrow for a big group of people and I am touched by their attentions these last days - can't shed this skin, don't want too, we have broken bones together.
Never mind that the weather is such that Noah has also been invited. We have set up tents for torrents, rise river! RISE!

Eurobabs:
I have thirteen tomato plants, four pepper plants and six dhili plants all growing nicely now.
Remember you should only have three groups of flowers called Trusses on each plant. Also you have to pinch out those shoots in between shoots and stem. I am not perfect at doing it but that is at least what you are supposed to so.
Oh, also my sweetcorn beans pumpkin 3 sisters bed is comning on now, amd I expect leeks, onion, peas, zucchini this year.
