I am happy because Emily was found.

I'm happy for two main reasons:

1 - It's Friday!!! Almost the weekend!!!
2 - For the first time in weeks (months?) I don't have some boring, tedious assigment at work!! I can PLAY!!!

Show has come down and I am happy. Got a few offers but my intention was not to sell but display my work so I sold nothing. Although a photographer offered to trade print to print and I accepted because this is the highest compliment one can recieve . Now I have a lith waiting to be displayed at my apt. One bad thing though , gallery owner informed me that last week someone tried to take down a nude print I had displayed. The print was very tasteful and was made as anom as possible. It was also one of the prints that was offered to be bought so it was good shot. It bothers me that some attempted to take it down though because the human body is not porn nor disgusting.

I guess even though you do live in Portland, this shows you still live in America.

house stuff resolved - new lease signed for Mun and Paris house is sold... June is a month of less travel! Yeah. Weekend with the the girls at home! Fantastic week. Even doing taxes doesn't piss me off.

A childhood friend of mine just contacted me via lokalisten tonight, and now we're writing to each other. Gave me the idea to look up another very good friend I had when I was little, and voilà, found her as well! I hope she remembers me and we get back it touch.

Getting back in touch with people you once loved (and most likely still love) is always great!

I am sooo happy today because I got two job offers in the past two days including the backing of my current boss and a previous one on each position... Totally unexpected! One position is in San Francisco, the other one in NYC... But do I really like to go 'home' after only seven months back in Europe... A tough decision... What to do?

Carm go up north to Sapa via the westtown of Dien Bien Phu - specatacular. We found the south a bit dull. Don't forget to drop off to Angkor Wat - fantastic site in Cambodia.

I am spending a few days on a south beach and boat trip thru Halong, so Sapa is out this time. Its my birthday present to myself.

Yep Halong is nice apart from the Chinese who are destroying bits of it - you'll see.

Hoi An is on the plan too, I did China and Tibet last year, so I have seen the distruction that the Chinese can do. Still pisses me off. But, I will not let that jade my trip to buy dead cheap slothes.

I bought pretty earrings and pretty (and comfy) shoes. I also realized that another pair of shoes I bought a few weeks ago, is indeed really comfortable (due to weather I didn't wear them much before the past few days).

Oh and my best friend from elementary school wrote me back, saying "of course I still know who you are", yay! I hope we stay in touch now.

Hopefully these painkillers will still make me feel good tomorrow then I can use them as an excuse i.e., on drugs to pinch the bottoms on those doctors assistants in the praxis. Something about receptionist girls in tight white pants.

I met an overly affectionate cat on the way home who was apparently in need of some TLC. Must be living in the neighborhood. Cats just make me happy!

Wahoo! Its the weekend (been off work since 1pm) and I have no plans outside of having fun.
And I have enough money to pay for my trip in the fall, quite proud of myself and my saving abilities and still having a social life.

I am an aunt again!!!
My sister-in-law had a lumpy-faced little girl at 1.33pm today named Helena Sophia, 51cm, 3150g. My brother admitted to almost crying and he got to hold her for 40 minutes while his wife was being sewn up after the C-section.

Just booked my flight from Munich to London with Lufthansa for €101! I had found that offer a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't book because I thought there was no rush, but then prices went up to almost twice as much. So when I saw they had the offer again today, I booked right away! Woohoo!
I would like to book my flight to Barcelona already as well, as they have the same offer for Munich-Barcelona (at least the last time I checked), but I do not know the exact dates yet so I can't. Hope they will keep the offer for a while.

What is it about sisters-in-law and the name Helena this spring? That's my new niece's name, too.

I got my Green Card issued today. Got the Email from USCIS and will receive it within 30 days. The whole process took 10 months from initial application to issuing the card. However, it took only 6 months from USCIS actually starting the process (i.e. the accepted the application) to issuing it.

A very frustrating time but it went a lot quicker than some of the horror stories I have heard

Dude, you need friends in high places. Knowing someone can get it done is 6 weeks or so. Congrats anyway. Now you will have to work instead of "trolling" TT.

I have heard stories either way. 6 months is actually pretty quick even if you do know someone and pay a fortune on lawyers fees.

Which I have in abundance! The selection I have in the wine cellar/cupboard (for which I built the racks myself) currently contains Paulaner, Franziskaner (helles und dunkles) and Schneider.. Only 2 dollars a bottle which is pretty good for over here. And, before someone talks about the the Canadian stuff that is weaker, it is all imported from Germany and is all standard German strength
