Why are you happy today?

I am spending some 'babytalking/teedrinking/muffenbaking/familyjibbirjabber' with my two sisters. BUT what I am happy about today, is because my brother in-laws LOVES BEER!! Jipeee!!

I´ve got the rest of the week off!

in the background i can hear the trailer of hollywoodland and it sounds really good. i am so looking forward to seeing it in the cinema

It's pay day. Enough said.

I went to visit my former department head this morning and told him I was leaving the company - he showered me with compliments about being clever and smart and talented etc.
Not totally happy after yesterday, but feeling better.

I'm happy even though I should be miserable with a cold because I got several shots of both of the transvestites in the streetcar.

i'm happy because i'm off to the wies'n this afternoon to wet my son's head with a load of friends. that'll do for me!

finally getting my butt in gear to sort through stuff so i can finally start packing
(and when i went to the bike shop i got the nice guy to order me a wrench i need not the other one thus saving a few euros!)

I'm happy cause it's stopped raining and am off to the wies'n this afternoon

I'm happy, because my hubby just got back home from a business trip. Unfortunately, now I'm off on one...

because the rain has stopped and I might actually get a dry bike ride in.

... cos I'm on a works do and a leaving do tonight so it's free beer & cocktails in the aptly named Mai Tai bar in the hotel in town.

I am happy because I just sent off my Email to my boss letting him know I will not be seeking to pursue my contract after mid-November.

It feels REALLY GOOD to leave my job. I am so excited for what the future will bring.

Of course we will see how he feels when he emails me back

b/c tomorrow i'll be heading to good ol'l Wisconsin for one of my best friend's weddings!!!

thanks DDbug...I literally feel high right now. I have essentially "worked" in some capacity since I was 14, and so to choose to walk away was very difficult place for me to get to. Looking forward to just enjoying life for a while.

Because I just picked up Styx - Greatest Hits (wow).

Because I just got paid for four months of work by two employers (including all of that double-shift work during the World Cup), which was long enough to let a humble lifestyle become routine, and now there is affordability to boot.

Because I just moved even closer to my kids into a room in a villa and my view is a sunny green one onto a very old, big redwood tree with huge needles all over the ground which reminds me of Oregon and Northern California.

Because bonding with my boy is getting better, way better (I think he may even succumb gradually to ultimate frisbee, but let's not rush things).

Because I am out of that prison of a house where the owner lady downstairs called every time it rained (or when it looked like it might rain) to make sure that the windows were closed (although being a native Oregonian, open windows during rain is a cherished thing, like a live concert).

Because I can actually set foot in the yard where I live (thinking about a huge party there before it gets cold).

Because I finally resolved the deal with my band: I quit. Driving 70 minutes one way every Sunday to practice three songs which I (at least think I) could sing in my sleep was just too frivolous a use of every other Sunday. That was tough to leave, great musicians, and there is an open invitation to rejoin if I ever feel like it (on my side, that would be if they move practices to the Vienna hub).

Because I am looking forward to detailing one of my cars and then selling it (gawd I luv detailing cars - something my ex-wife never understood, despite how cool she is).

Because I have a super-duper great girlfriend who I am gradually figuring out, bit-by-bit, and the strategy of "try harder" seems to be working out.

I dunno.. Have been on an upper for about 2 months now!

Same here! First job at 14 and straight through to now. I never even took my maternity leave. (Chorus of Stoooopiiiid). But I can't wait around for a department to assert itself, I can't wait around for colleagues to get organized, I can't wait around "in case" we need my income again to keep off the streets.

And I have reservations at the fest tonight

I'm happy, nay ecstatic, because I just baked my first ever cake - from scratch. Chocolate and hazelnut. And it's come out fine and tastes lovely and isn't burnt and is moist in the middle.

I give it an hour til it's gone

and i'm going out on the lash later which is always good!

I'm happy because I have a holiday coming up and I'll be getting laid soon.

Because I just bought tix to the Nutcracker Suite in Lincoln Center in NYC, and get to watch my 4 year old niece's eyes light up. Secretely I love this show just as much

Because I leave my job in 3 weeks, and get to take a nice year long break (minimum).

Coz my Grandma has refused to have a flu jab... This may just polloish her off!

Cos i cancelled Sky and save a fortune.

My wife loves me , or says she does.
I have 2 beautiful daughters that do as well.

i'm happy cos i had a great weekend and the last thing my eldest did before he went to bed is hugged me and said "dad i love you to bits. you're a bit loud sometimes but i love you". that'll keep me going through the valley of death itself.

I'm not happy but I am glad that the working day is almost over.

I am happy that I haven't smacked either of my co-workers upside the head today no matter how much they deserve it (IMO). Or should this be in the vent?
