
Yesterday I discovered there is a new fruit out there. They are called "Pluots" and are cross between plums and apricots. I hmmed at the knowledge and promptly forgot it. Until, lo and behold, before my very eyes, I found Pluots for sale at Plus! I probably wouldn't have noticed them or bothered to buy them to try out if I hadn't just yesterday heard about them.
Anyways, they are quite tasty. The flesh and skin is the consistency of a plum, but with the sweetness of a ripe apricot. As I don't like the feel of raw apricots in my mouth (cooked is fine), this makes a nice substitute.
