bird-or-bloke?
Two years ago I found out that Dame Edna Everage was, in fact, a man! Two weeks ago, I found out that Melton Mowbry was more than a pork pie and was, in fact, an actual place (embarrassing way to find out - was working in a car hire place temping and took down an address. They said Melton Mowbry, and I said, no really.. where do you live?... ph34r.gif ) I also found out much to my shock, that Timbucktoo isn't a fictional, make up place like Narnia, it is an actual place!!

Do you have shocking revelations??
Carm
my parents had sex at least twice! ohmy.gif

Until I went there for a job in 1982, I thought Milton Keynes was the Prime Minister of Jamaica.

I discovered, along with my father, about 10 years ago that 40 is spelt forty instead of fourty. How bloody stupid is that! (the correct spelling, not my revelation)
parnell
I'm pretty and intelligent too. My farts smell like rainbows.
righter
I am amazed to discover that rainbows actually have an odour.
parnell
Mexican rainbows apparently...

I honestly thought it was a joke when a British person pronounced it as "me-CRA-may", rather than "MAC-ra-may" for macrame.
sarabyrd
I thought "The Forsyte Saga" had been dubbed wrong when they called Irene Ey-REE-nee but it turns out that the Brits pronounce it that way.
Jenny L
When I was 17, I discovered that Julie Andrews really is English. ohmy.gif Up until then I just thought she was really good at acting.
Expat Mat
Earlier this year I discovered Wiener Schnitzel comes from Vienna, when I was in a schnitzel restuarant in Vienna!

Slightly embarrassing.
Leebo84
I only recently realised that there is actually a difference between pronouncing 'f' and 'th'. Up until then I always said 'frew' instead of 'through' or 'furroughly' instead of 'thoroughly'.

So much for a private education!

Was told this weekend that the Bayerisch word for Munich is 'Mingin' (or sounds very much like) - thought the piss was being taken, but apparently not!

Didnt realise until a few years ago that that woman on that VOX sex talk show thingie, whats it called, Wahre Liebe or something, is in actual fact,:a bloke. Although Id had my suspicions for some time ohmy.gif

I learned that the reason kids are so cute is to help you look past the times when they are such a pain in the ass. Kind of the same principle with the British accent.
bird-or-bloke?
quick question - a family friend is having the op to become a man. Does that make her hubby gay? He is accepting this and they are still together. The willy apparently, won't be large by any means, as they aren't if they are opperated on, but will he be gay or just a straight guy in a homosexual partnership? Will he start fancying guys??
hams
Can and worms - blink.gif

And definately not a quick answer...
don_riina
I recently learnt that when yanks refer to something sucking or blowing, they actually mean the same fucking thing. Still, doubles their vocab at least. Few hundred more years and they might work out how to correctly use the word "already".

Makes them both mentally fucked up, and allows them to jump past the pikeys in the queue for the burning pit.

Is there such a thing as a 'British' accent?

@bird or bloke: it depends on what sex acts they will be engaging in and what roles they will respectivley be performing in each act. i.e. more detail please.

oh you mean 'a friend'
bird-or-bloke?
it was a bit of a shock to find that out really, but hey. She (sorry, he) is lovely. But i don't really understand how this affects her husband (his husband).. if the willy is going to be too short to actually use, how will they be having sex?

I was told that there is a generic British English accent that is taught in public schools where they teach their students to speak without their regional accents.

Forget the his/her crap, and call it like it is. IT.

You don't understand how this affects the husband??!?! Fuck me, never ever apply for a job designing tunnels, please.

Of course it doesn't make him gay. If your husband decided that he wished to become a woman and you decided you loved him enough to stick with him despite this, would it make you gay because you didn't stop loving him?

Ah, point taken. It's a bit like people nursing a loved one through any kind of fucked up mental disorder really.
jml
Maybe he would be bi...in general he likes women except for his wife, who is now a man.

PS: I dont think it really matters in this case does it?

I've been trying this one for quite a while - "If you loved me enough you'd allow me to bring another woman into our bed and act like u enjoy it"... so far it's not goin as planned...

Dame Edna Everage to sex change ramifications in 30 posts.

For TT that's so on topic it's hard to look at straight on.

No, no, and more no. He would be insane. Fucking hell, if weissbier suddenly tasted like cider, would I continue to drink it because it was 'still weissbier'? Of course the fuck I would not, because it would be fucking stupid.

'at's right Treacle. They make the little snotty nosed bar stewards practise fer 'ours on end wiv a plum stuck in their gobs. None of 'em speaks proppa like what I was learnt in skool. Just listen to the British Queen, "Mai hosbond and I come hier orphen." It's "Of-ten" innit? Silly caa still thinks 'sex' is what spuds come in. dry.gif

Im shocked that 3Lions is shocked.
Yeti
I'm shocked that Sin used "sex" and "spuds" in one sentence.

Perhaps you should try something along the lines of "honey, I have been diagnosed with a rare disorder, every second week (at the least) I need you to bring another woman into the bed with us or my penis will shrivel up and fall off. Believe me honey, this will be harder on me than it is on you but there just isn't any other way"

Much easier line to sell than a bird saying to her husband "you know what, I really fancy getting a penis"

I was shocked by the dishwasher and then I was shocked by the shock. Damn shocking experience it was.

@Don

Would it be like when a certain type of German couple buy matching bikes and cycling gear ?

What the hell Don, I think that some blokes could get their own lady bits (top and bottom) without too much notice, they'd sign up. Save them a lot of trouble at the pub mind.

No. They come in "his" and "hers" varieties. Never seen Aldi flogging an "its" range.

There used to be a whole thread on the sex change questions (are men who date transvestites gay or straight) but it got deleted.

You've obviously never seen this couple out on a bike ride.
