Is there anywhere in Munich that rents surfboards?
Malt-Teaser
What kind of board are you looking for?

Uh, I don't know, really. My friend and I want to head to the river. I'm definitely a beginner, female, about 165 cm, 58 kilos...

Great idea.
I would also love to give this a go... would have to be really early in the morning though cos I don't want to have too much of an audience.

I only asked because I have a board for sale at the moment, but it is not suitable for the Isar.

I would start by asking at the main Munich sports shops. If there is a rental possibility, they may know about it.

Good luck,

I'm a tour guide and I've never heard of surf board rentals here in Munich. Perhaps the reason for this is that surfing the artificial wave in the Isar is a bit dangerous and not suitable for beginners. I.e. under the wave are loads of rocks. If you don't know what you are doing, you could get hurt! Also, I've seen guys break their boards after slamming into the side wall.

If you do happen to find a place, please post it! My customers often ask about the possibility of renting surfboards!

buster surfboards meisner & bernhard GbR - neubiberger str. 32 - 85640 putzbrunn - germany

...much cheaper than bringing a board from the states but there are plenty of surf shops in france spain to check.

Why not put up a for sale poster near the Isar wave, and near the Eisbach. Somebody will see it and be intrested in it...
