Apropos nothing, i was just watching TV and one of my favourite chocolate bars as a kid, Milky Bar, was on an advert.

OK so the Milky Bar Kid delivers his famous line, " The Milky Bars are on me ! "

Great stuff, loads of nostalgia smile.gif

Then the voice over crew, instead of singing along " Nestle's ( as in bosom ) Milky Bars "
says instead " Nestle ( with a French e acute accent ) Milky Bar ".

Bugger all i know and the current pronunciation is undoubtedly accurate but it's always been Nestle's dammit ! mad.gif

And while we're at it, what was wrong with "Opal Fruits" ( Made to make your mouth water ) ?
Now called "Starburst" ! What is that ? mad.gif

Anyone else hacked off with them changing our childhood sweets or other food names ?

fap fap fap fap fap
they changed marathon to snickers.

ruined all the paula ratcliff jokes.

Opal fruits? What the are those? Starbursts have been Starbursts since they were first introduced in the 60s.

They were called Opal Fruits in the UK and the tagline was as above
interplanetjanet
They were and are called Starbursts everywhere else in the world, but I can't say as I recall what their tagline is.
