does anyone know of a beauty supply store in munich, perhaps something like sally's beauty supply store in the u.s. and in some areas of germany like stuttgart (at the end of the ped zone)? i'm not interested in salons that sell limited product lines, but a store solely dedicated to beauty supplies of all brands and price ranges.

i went into the hair salon in karlsplatz across from DM (they have a pretty good selection of everything from tigi to paul mitchell), but my favorite straightening syling cream went up from €13,20 to €15,80 and when i scoffed, the lady just shrugged: the companies raise their prices, what can they do? i buy at least one a month so i know how much i give out each month, but my hair needs it. i've tried the cheap stuff and i can't go back. sad.gif

i've found a place in mannheim (with 2 shops) and when you buy 2 products, you get 10% off, 4 or more, 20% off, but alas, i am not in mannheim now!

thx

EDIT: ebay? online shops? not much of a difference. add shipping costs and i'm back to where i was in the shop. and i cannot have anything shipped from the u.s. b/c of customs fees. they'll see a company label & open the box. and with what i need to buy, I'd easily go over the custom dues owed.

This shop sells all kinds of hair products to hairdresser's as well as to individuals. I am not sure, if they are cheaper than normal shops, but they have a good range of products. The shop is located opposite to the back entrance of Saturn.

Elfenstar, can I ask you the name of this straightening cream you speak of? My hair is a nightmare, and I'm constantly in search of new product. Just curious what you use. Also, I completely feel your pain regarding the shipping/customs fees from the U.S. I recently tried to order about $20 worth of products from drugstore.com, and by the time I was done with the fees it was going to cost over $100.

Does anyone happen to know if/where I can find Bumble and Bumble products? I like their Curl Conscious Curl Creme, and I'm running dangerously low. Thanks.

I used to get my hair stuff even for colouring pro style at a hair salon at Ostbahnhof- its a hairsalon, but also an outlet. Mostly Professional Wella and Professional Schwarzkopf stuff. Its right in the shopping arcade upstairs at the ground level where the buses are. Sorry don't know the name.

Bumble and Bumle I have seen some of the products at Ludwig Becks in the back of the store on the ground floor where the higher end cosmetics are- like OPI, MAC, Origins and such.

it's from l'oreal: liss control tech.art straightening styling creme. you're supposed to then blow dry your hair, but i don't. my hair is so curly it doesn't straighten it per se, but whenever i buy products for curly hair, it makes me curls even tighter. i don't like that!

I have a similar question. i want to use my hair straightener more often. so i was wondering what products do you use for protecting the hair. when do you apply the products?
thanks.

I use L'Oreal Hot Glatt, which you can buy at any Schlecker, DM, whatever. Costs about 5€ a bottle, but I'm pretty happy with it. I don't straighten every day though, so I don't know how it would cope in that situation. I apply it to wet hair, then either blow dry my hair or leave it to dry naturally, and then straighten when my hair is bone dry.

EDIT: It comes in a bright pink bottle, you can't miss it!

There's a shop in the Karlsplatz S-Bahn station that sells all of the higher end brands I use something in a silver spray can by Schwarzkopf for straightening (after using a balm when I blow dry). Hair stays pretty well protected that way. They have a front sign with a neon shamrock on it.
