I am looking for a full set (fork, knives, spoons) of cutlery with olive wood handles. I have seen them in Italy but can't find them here in a shop or on the web. Any help out there?

You could get a set of Laguiole which look like this:
http://www.benoit-artisan.com/fr/We have a set of mixed woods and they are truly beautiful. Very strongly made. They do sales on-line too.
The wood on some of them still has a scent too. They aren't cheap but will last a life time.
In Munich I have seen a little shop on the corner of Viktualienmarkt which stocks Laguiole in box sets (it is the same shop which has the pool cues and chess sets, maybe someone else knows the name?) but whether they are good quality or not I don't know.
@mellelisa
I take it they need to be washed by hand?

Yes. Never submerged either. I would suspect all wood cutlery would need to be done by hand though.
That is not entirely true: I have a set that I bought in Munich with softer wood (pine) and they have held up very well (ten years) despite the disherwasher.

Be careful with Laguiole. They may say Laguiole on them (there is no legal prohibition on calling the cutlery that apparently, and a lot of manufacturers make cheaper versions) but the quality can be terrible. We were given a set of steak knives which are so badly made in comparison with the ones we bought in the village in France. They are expensive but they are very well made and everyone always comments on how well they cut and the look. The one on EBay may look good but I would advise you to go somewhere you have had recommended or buy in store. It is a lot of money to pay to get not so good quality knives. We drove to France to choose them and it was so interesting to see them being made and see all the artisans in the village.

I was in town, so I didn't look, but now mellelisa has me worried.
