Transporting a compact dishwasher in Munich

Options for doing this without your own car

Hi,

I found a nice used 30KG compact (55cm*45cm) dishwasher and would like to buy it. My problem in transportation; I don't have a car. The machine is in Giesing (5 min from U-Bahn) and I live in Hohenzollernplatz (also 5 min from U-Bahn).

So what are my options here? The only ways I could think of are:

- rent one of those heavy duty trolleys and transport it myself using U-Bahn.
- have it transported by a transportation company or a taxi.
- have someone transport it for me in his/her car.

Can anyone recommend where I can rent a trolley? Find a cheap transportation company? or maybe someone is living near one of the two places (Giesing, Hohenzollernplatz) is willing to transport it for me for a small fee?

Thanks

Hire a car for a few hours.

Many places have carts and only cost an € and you even get that back when you are done. ph34r.gif

For the cost of a car rental/small fee, you are probably just better off getting a taxi. You can order a big one ahead of time from the taxi-zentrale. I hope you have friends at either end to help you move it about, because I don't think the taxi driver is likely to help.

Someone be a good citizen and offer to transport it in their car (I don't have a car in Munich, before the obvious comments ome flooding in).

You should have seen us heading to the airport with 5 big bags and three carry-ons. Man those carts are great. wink.gif

Fadyek, I would be happy to give you a lift with my car. Send me a pm and we can set it up.

to eurovol:
are you sure that the 5 big bags were yours?

It was me, the wife and the son and all the bags belonged to us. Hey, we could of had six bags, but the damn cart wasn't big enough. Still, it was free as I found an abandoned one in the neighborhood and used it. We had lots of stares as we took the U6 and then the Sairport trains.
