Hotels in Rothenburg an der Tauber

My mother is coming to visit again in September and wants to visit Rothenburg and der Tauber. Need to find a place for two that is clean, nice, has character and cheap. Any personal recommedations for a good but cheap place?

We stayed at the Hotel Reichsküchenmeister a couple of years ago when my parents came for a visit. I guess it depends on the actual days you'll be staying- rates for a double are from €75-135. We really loved this hotel- it's just about a block away from the main square, so it's close without being loud. Also the rooms were so cute and authentically furnished- and very clean! They have a restaurant downstairs where breakfast is served (it was included for us) and they had quite a large selection. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Kitty-Kat - thanks for the link - I checked it out and way too expensive for us. Am thinking more around €50 for a double - no need for breakfast, neither of us could eat it anyway, gluten allergy. We just need a nice, safe, clean room to sleep in and if it has a lot of character and centrally located - that would be a huge benefit.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
