Okay, I have officially ruined two purses. One ysl beige suede (the blue on my indigo jeans rubbed off on the purse) and my brand new (not even a month old) gucci clutch bag (tan colored with a treated finish) has 3 drops of heavy oil on it. ph34r.gif (please dont ask)

These are not the types of purse i really want to throw away, and buy new ones...(at least not until the next pay cheque)So anyone know of a good leather cleaner or tips? Im not sure how to deal with this.

My colleague suggested a company call Löffler off of Nordenstrasse. However since im banned from TT at work (on britboard instead) i cant do a search. Anyone have the address?? Or other suggestions? Pretty pretty please??? sad.gif

this may be a stupid thing to say, but have you tried a sofa outlet. I know when we needed some marks removed out of our treated leather sofa they knew their stuff!

Come on Toronto, you can't expect help if you pepper a request with phrases such as "heavy oil" and "gucci" and then refuse to part with the juicy details. I mean is this some haute couture biker chick/mechanic thing ?

I am looking for the name of a place on Nymphenburgerstraße that alters and cleans leather gear but I can't find it at the mo.

I've PMed this to Toronto, but for others here's a list of leather cleaners in Munich from the Gelbseiten
Toronto
Yeti, will I get more suggestions if i said it was massage oil? ph34r.gif

Just to be specific...although i would go to all lengths to save my precious accesories...something in Schwabing or City center would be prefered! But im in no position to be too picky. So please...any suggestions.

Salah's
Nymphenburger Str. 182
80634 München Telefon: (089) 13939743
Alternatively, visit the stores concerned Munich outlets, they may be able to help (I know that Hermès does take on their own cleaning and repair work, the stuff is piled up on the first floor, not sure if they do non-Hermès).
Toronto, can you recommend a suit alterations tailor though in exchange? Context here. Thanks.

In the list I posted, there's 1 near Rotkreutplatz:

Alexander Gibis Textilreinigung + Wäscherei
Volkartstr. 25, 80636 München
Telefon: (089) 169480

and one at Fraunhoferstr:

Münchener Schuhwerkstätten GmbH
Auenstr. 10, 80469 München
Telefon: (089) 2010043

That 2nd place is actually for shoes but it says they clean leather too.

Alas - Katrina and UA, my saviours. Many air kisses. smile.gif
Unfortunately, i use the atelier at work for alterations...But Urban Angel used a tailor not so long ago...perhaps she can share!?

Toronto, you're welcome. Salah's do my jeans, they are a Turkish family and are also well known for treating leather, esp. bike leathers (which can often be more expensive than your purses). I might well just use them for the suits really.
I've heard Auenstr. is good though.

I went to the tailors once upon recommendation, but I wasn't too impressed. He altered my trousers too short after me telling me 3 or 4 times - yes< I do want to keep them this long... but the address is on Reichenbachstrasse, at the Fraunhoferstrasse end, a couple of doors up from Pomeroy & Winterbottom. I also found it to be expensive... but it's up to you hehe.
