Recommendations for learning to dance

Hello everybody,

my husband and I are looking for a good dancing school in Munich. At the moment we are enrolled at the Tanzschule am Deutschen Theater, but we're not that satisfied with the way they organise their classes.

Who can recommend a better school for our "Fortgeschrittenenkurs"?

Thanks a lot,
Lelaina

What exactly is it that you are not satisfied with? unsure.gif

Try some of the links from this old thread about about ballroom dancing lessons in English.

I don't know much about these things, but is it normal that they advertise the fact that they have a practice lesson at the end of each course where you don't learn anything new? To me that sounds a bit like wanting to prolong the courses to get extra money.

Also, we are in a course of about 25 couples in a tiny room - well, not tiny, but just not big enough for 50 people who are waltzing and who are more concerned with the steps and the rhythm than with watching where they are going. Can be quite dangerous wink.gif . There's a Fortgeschrittenenkurs (4 couples) in the room next door and that room is gigantic...

Thanks for the old thread but we don't really need dancing lessons in English since we're both German. smile.gif

At Citydance (Neuhauserstrasse), they have a modular system. You pay by lesson, and you can choose which lessons you want to attend. So if you don't want to pay for additional practice lessons, you simply don't attend. Though I noticed that their 75 minute lessons tend to end after 50-60 minutes, and then you are asked to just "keep on dancing for a while". It's not particularly crowded, maybe 10 couples on average (keeps fluctuating quite a bit, though, because of their "come when you like"-approach). Not sure how their prices compare to other schools.

NP, I'm sure they do German as well. Up to now English has not completely taken over Munich ph34r.gif
