From the SonyBMG site, which I would say is a fairly reliable source...TOOL will return to Europe this fall as promised (At Roskilde Maynard said 'see you in november')...I have 'tbc' up there because toolband.com has yet to confirm them yet. Although, I did check the Zenith's site..and that night is not booked by another band on the night.

Be still my beating heart...

Looks like this might be confirmed quite soon...
I just looked on Muenchen Ticket, and they have a pre-sale listing up...https://www.muenchenticket.de/vorstellung.jsp?id=115853
Tickets are EUR 42.90, although it does mention that the advance booking is not yet confirmed (Der Vorverkaufsbeginn für diese Leistung steht noch nicht fest.)
...still this is a good sign..

How is the sound there? Tool would be pissed if it's a venue with shitty sound...
From the pics i've seen it looks...like a giant warehouse...
UrbanAngel
Jul 24 2006, 12:26 pm
And it is a warehouse, rather small though. Awful ventilation (hence my fainting fit during A Perfect Circle and the Deftones... must pissed off I was, though I was backstage with APC

) the sound was awful when we were there too, but maybe they just have dodgy sound guys? APC's sound was better than the Deftones.

Ah the perks of passing out...but yeah, i'm surprised Tool aren't playing a bigger venue like Olympiahalle, since most people are expecting a grander Fall tour, akin to the last Lateralus tour...

That's pretty normal...how much were you expecting to pay for a major international band?
It sure beats ticket prices in Australia, where a major band like Tool would easily be like 50 euros next time they tour...but then that's because it costs bands quite a bit more to fly halfway across the world, and as bands become more popular down the years, they tend to get more expensive (mainly because they play bigger capacity venues)
Look on the bright side though, with a band like Tool at least you are getting your money's worth...a spectacular live show, and one of the best displays of musicianship around

I'm sure that's not the actual face values for those tickets...it seems when it comes to Tool, the US dates sell
really quickly, and unfortunately the low-life scalpers get a nice chunk of it to put on ebay.

Last time I checked there are. have a look on
muenchenticket.deFor some reason ticket sales are never quite so rabid and insane like they are in the US or Australia. I tried getting tickets for Tool's Melbourne show in January, and instead all I had to deal with was an overloaded Ticketmaster site shitting itself. Stuff like that is so stress-free here...

I bought three tickets for my 3 boys who are in Prague, CZ
Anyone have suggestions what is the best way to get from Prague to Munich.
What should they see while they are there.
They are a great rock and roll band - "Mob Mentality".
They are hoping to get some gigs while they are in or near the Czech Republic.
They will travel to Germany to play.
Anyone have any ideas who to contact or where to go.

Oh yes I forgot to ask.
3 tickets to Tool at the Zenith.
Is there seating at the Zenith or standing room only?
Do they need to get there early for good positions?
It looks like there is a balcony. Is that better than the floor near the front?
thanks J

So glad this isn't in Zenith. I'll be going to this, but I hope that the sound is mixed better than when I saw the Deftones last time, and when Chino played with his new band Team Sleep 2 yrs ago. Both times it was awful, so that the disonant melodies didn't come across at all.

Maynard fucking rules! That concert was awesome.
deep_schismic
Nov 19 2006, 5:40 pm
Sigh...another Tool concert...Maynard sucks, who does he think he is? Wearing a gas mask and shit!...PAUSE...NOT!
(haha sorry, was talkin about Borat with some friends last night)
My 4th tool show of the year...god that makes it sound trivial a bit eh...but it could not have been further from that. It was just sensory overload...in a fuckin GREAT way...I loved how the visuals were gradually built up...loved the Rosetta Stoned videos. Maynard sounded great, and the sound was not as bad as I expected from the Zenith even though the signs were not favourable, while we heard the building rattle during soundcheck...fuckin hilarious. At some parts the drums and bass were too loud, I could hear it distort, but the vocals were quite clear...I could even make out alot more of Rosetta Stoned this time!
And Wings/10,000 Days...well what can be said about this? I had goosebumps throughout...but was dismayed by people clapping along to the syncopated bass line during the buildup. I'm sorry if I come across as a Tool-snob...but I mean if you know anything about their music, then clapping was not appropriate for what is their arguably most emotional song. Thankfully they stopped soon after, perhaps realizing their faux pas.
My goodness...I can't believe I'll be seeing them again in 3 weeks in Stuttgart! And I came oh-so-close to grabbing Danny's snare skin...missed it by a few inches. sigh. maybe next time:). And if anyone recalls, Maynard did say something along the following lines: "We'll see you next summer. Hopefully somewhere outside with fresh air, so I don't have to wear this fuckin' mask"...classic.
P.S. did anyone notice FABIO in the crowd?? hahaha shit like that makes me happy that I came to Germany...fuckin fringe, and flowing blonde hair with a 80's leather jacket!
Peace out.
I would love to read about some of your experiences, esp. if it was your 1st Tool show...I love the sense of wonder people have after their 1st Tool concert

It was my first Tool gig.. fucking amazing!! To be honest, I was fearing the worst when I caught the second half of Mastodon - the sound was appalling: just a distorted bass-led dirge which, if I hadn't put my earplugs in, would have made me deaf and unable to hear Tool. But Tool had their own sound equipment and from the first bars of Stinkfist I just knew it was going to be incredible. The sound was first rate and I didn't need my earplugs. The highlight was probably the slooow build up to Wings for Marie and the way the laser beam gradually became beams and sparkled into life as the song did. That and the spaceship-alike lights above the stage for Rosetta Stoned. Lowlights the (slightly taller than me) couple standing directly in front of me who kept putting their heads together and shouting into each others' ears and blocking my view. After 5 minutes of that I just barged in front of them :-) So, an amazing gig, a great experience - I still had a smile on my face an hour later when I got home.
