the sound was pretty shit for mastodon, but unfortunately that's what alot of their music is like...I did enjoy their last 2-3 songs though as they didn't sound as generic. But yeah, i am so taking earplugs next time...

I was pretty well back - about 4 metres in front of the second bar, parallel with the toilets (sounds crap but it was ok, avoided the headbangers/locos nearer the front ;-)) Maynard, from where I was, looked a bit elephant-manish: was quite relieved to hear him say near the end that it was a mask he was wearing... Mastodon is not really my thing - was hoping Tool would be touring with Isis as they did, I think, in the States.
