The police are looking for a giant snake in the Neckar (German link) first seen Monday night between Heidelberg and Karlsruhe. An angler sighted it in the moonlight, other witnesses followed it for app. 700m before it submerged. One of them, who has considerable knowledge of snakes, claims that it shows a marble-like pattern typical for pythons.



Pythons kill their prey by suffocating it, they belong to the family of constrictors and are carnivores.
