I made some guacamole today, but to do so I had to buy a sack of 6 limes (only used one). I was wondering if anyone has any creative ideas for the remaining 5 limes. Maybe an interesting marinade or something.

refreshing summer drink:
dry white wine (ie 0,5l), same amount of sparkling water, a little bit of elderflower syrup (go with taste) and at least 1 lime.
very nice to drink as it is very refreshing, you don't realise how you get slowly drunk...

Squeeze all lime juice into saucepan. Add loads of sugar until its sweet, but still with a bite. Cut skin from 1/2 a lime away from the pith, and shred it into little strips (julienne if you wanna use posh words).

Get a little cornflour, and mix with a splash of water until smooth. Add to lime mixture and heat slowly until thickened to sauce consistency.

Get chicken breasts. Cut into "schnitzels" and flatten them. Mix some cornflour witha beaten egg and some cayeene pepper, and put the chicken into this batter.
Shallow fry the chicken on both sieds until golden.

Serve with the sauce.

Bit like chinese lemon chicken, but with lime.

v. true, it's truly scrumptious, and the tipsiness creeps up on you, sneakily, before you get chance to notice

Sounds tasty don riina. Can I substitute regular flour for cornflour?

Squeeze the juice out of all of the limes into a bowl. Add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper and two teaspoons of cumin, as much garlic as you like and three teaspoons oil of choice. Marinade cut up strips of chicken breasts in this for at least four hours. After marinading add all to a wok or large pan and cook at high heat until the chicken looks almost done. Remove the chicken and add a bit more oil. Cook red, yellow and green bell peppers cut in strips for almost three minutes. Now add strips of one large white onion and cook this with the bell peppers until they are all cooked. Add the chicken back into the pan or wok. Now add this with corn or flour tortillas with your guacamole and you have some nice fajitas.
Saz
Or make a couscous salad.
Per 250 g of couscous you need:
half a cucumber (diced)
200 g cherry tomatoes (quartered)
half a pack of feta cheese (more if you like)
juice and grated peel of 1-2 limes (might need to add more juice if you're aftera more intense citrusy flavour)
chopped coriander (handful)
maybe some chopped mint (big pinch)
4-5 chopped spring onions
salt & pepper
olive oil

Prepare the couscous as instructed on the package. Leave to cool.
Once cool, mix it together with all the other ingredients. Bob's your uncle.
Goes very well with any bbq'd meat and usually tastes best when you leave it to stand in the fridge for a few hours before serving.

i saw this today. looks good.

where do you get black beans in Munich?
Can you list an example of a place?
I really have a hard time finding any beans here in Germany.
Showem
Lots of places? Just not canned so often, more dried.
Toast
the minimal in arabella park has 'em ("S&W" label). i think that they're a fairly new addition.

Ingredients:

2 tsp coarse Salt
1 Lime wedge
3 oz white Tequila
1 oz Triple sec
2 oz Lime juice
1 cup crushed Ice

Mixing instructions:

Place salt in a saucer. Rub rim of a cocktail glass with lime wedge and dip glass into salt to coat rim thoroughly, reserve lime. Pour tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and crushed ice into a blender. Blend well at high speed. Pour into a cocktail glass

Go to drinkswap.com for some more ideas or whattodrink.com looks alright too.
