Restaurants in Freiburg

Hi all
Have found myself in Freiburg and will be staying overnight (At the Hotel Colombi if that means anything to anyone). I don't know the town, have no guide (my colleague also has never been here).

Can anyone recommend a decent restaurant and then a bar for a few beers afterwards, and then a club to round off the evening?

We were thinking maybe a Thai restaurant or are we being a bit optimistic and should stick to Badisch food?

I have a horrible feeling Seepark isn't going to quite the same as Seehaus though Will at least pay it a visit to see

i would recommend you go up to the Kastaniengarten. you'll get a fab view of the city & it is a fantastic beergarden underneath lots of chestnut trees! it's a nice walk up there.

EDIT: ah, reread this:
ah Hotel Colombi, the most expensive hotel in Freiburg. then i guess i won't recommend some of the student "dives" i used to go to. but i think it is across from a park rumored to be the gay meeting point after midnight!

Café Journal is more of a posh establishment (well, used to be when I lived there).
Feierling brewery & beergarden located in the old city center.

Caruso Club is pretty flirty.

love eating outside. My Favorites are:

1. Markthalle - an international food court in the city center, you can bring your food to the nextdoor wine bar (Osteria) and sit on their tables if you order a drink. Sometimes live music in the evenings, though, check beforehand if it is open, I guess in the evenings it is only open Wed-Sun. [$]
2. A new Mexican restaurant in Karlsbau in Innenstadt, can't remember the name " El ...", it is in front of Enchilada in the corner of Herrenstr. [$$]
3. Harem: decent oriental restaurants with Turkish specialties in Innestadt [$$]
4. Leaf: Modern Thai restaurant in Eisenbahnstr. close to the train station [$$]
5. Jesuitenschloss Merzhausen: fantastic Panorama of Freiburg with a big outdoor terrace, perfect for a sunny day lunch or a nice dinner in summer [$$]
6. Schlossberg Restaurant: Nice for a Sunday brunch, also the food is really fantastic if you fancy a luxurious dinner [$$$$]
7. Sushibar in Atrium in Augustinaplatz [$$$]
8. Uncle Wok: In front of Cinemaxxx close to train station, great value Vietnamese wok [$]
9. Eupherat: The best turkish kabab in town next to the university, run by two Kurdish women [$/2]
10. Mehlwage: The best flammkuchen in town in a tiny street down martin's toer with outdoor tables [$]
