Public transport in Frankfurt

Train and bus route planners, map and ticket info

RMV Route planner -- this looks like you're supposed to be able to put in an address (not just a bus stop) and another address and it'll tell you where to change etc. -- is it broken or doesn't it work that way? I keep putting in Bornheim, Leibnizstr. 28 --> Hauptbahnhof, Frankfurt am Main, Nahverkehr, and it tells me there aren't any connections!

You can also use the main DB website/search query. Just type in your start/stop station, stop, etc. and put a F, at the beginning.

Example:

F, Hauptbahnhof (Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof)
F, Enkheim (Frankfurt Enkheim)
OF, Marktplatz (Offenback Marktplatz)

The website also understands German license plate "Kennzeichen" codes. AKA, F=Frankfurt, HU=Hanau,M=Munich,DA,Darmstadt
Gen
right, but I need the search query to work with the street address because I don't know what stations are near the building. I tried bahn.de but they offered me Leipzigerstr, which I'm sure is nice, but I don't want to go there. smile.gif
Darkknight
Hehehe, you must be new to that area, or just visiting (You seem very lost)... Cause the Höhenstrasse U bahn station
is only like 80 meters from that address. So use that station name as you dep. stop.

Directions: Go South down Lebnitz Str. towards. Berger Str. Make a Left on Berger Str, and go 40meters to
the Höhenstrasse Ubahn station at the intersection of BergerStr/Nibelungenallee (B44)

Hint: The U4 at Hoehenstrasse leaves every 10min (02/12/22/32 etc) and goes directly to Hauptbahnhof.
Take the U4 Direction Bockenheimer Warte. Hauptbahnhof will be the 5th stop.

Exactly right DK. I'm not even there yet! wink.gif Just staying for a month. Is there an online map of FFM that has the UBahn stations etc on it? The one I was using doesn't...
Darkknight
Actually the RMV site does have the maps, and lots of them. It also has downloadable pocket time schedules too.
Gen
hmm, I phrased my request poorly. I meant a city map with all the streets and stuff but with the UBahn stations marked on it. Then I remembered hot-maps.de, which does have those on it. Thanks though!

Google Maps - Frankfurt has all the streets and U-Bahn stops on it.
Jay
VGF has a Frankfurt Inner city map with streets and U bahn/S bahn/Tram/Bus stops.

Also you may not know that the S-bahn tunnel between Hauptbahnof and Konstablerwoche will be closed between July 31st and August 18th.

I did see that warning, thanks! Max Maulwurf is so cute.

The MVV store/ Cust. center in Hauptbahnhof sells stuffed Max'es if you want one to hold wink.gif

I googled for such a thing and didn't find it. The place is located between Taunusanlage and Gr. Eschenhmr. str.(S-Bahn stations), very near to the Main river bridge. The map I found didn't indicate which U-/S-Bahn stops there. Anyone knows which U-/S-Bahn to take?

Many thanks. rolleyes.gif

Ah, but Strawberry can't do anything without asking Toytown for help, not even book a train ticket (thread already deleted) or listen to her voicemail.

Many thanks for the info. rolleyes.gif

My company has developed an application for mobile phones that also includes public transport planning

Big Red Zebra

No maps though, mainly to keep the application small and to avoid having to connect to a server.

maybe it's a silly question, but...

i don't suppose anyone knows of a website that would tell you all stops within X minutes traveling distance of any given stop (U-/S-bahn)?!?! I start work in Frankfurt in a couple of weeks, and can't live any further than 20 minutes away from work wacko.gif

This works well with the Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund website. In the top left corner, type in "Frankfurt" and the street/place you want to start from, in the other box type in "Frankfurt" and the street you want to go to. In the next window, you'll have to choose the exact station, then you'll see among other things the duration of the trip.

Dear all,
I'm about to head to Frankfurt for an internship and will need to commute by S-bahn. Can someone explain the public transport system? I've been to rmv.de and can't make out what they're talking about on the Monatskarte.

RMV is the ticketing anf timtabling authority for the Greater Frankfurt region.
It is cheaper to get a monthly pass for your regular commute, you need to locate the zones where you live and where you work to ork out the price etc.

Much more info here for just the Frankfurt area (and a lot of it in English):
