The football team Hamburg SV are setting up a graveyard opposite their ground with space for more than 150 graves.

Ok, that's not a huge amount of room but I suspect it'll only be for the diehard fans. Diehard, geddit? Ahh I'm killing myself here. laugh.gif

According to the club chairman, Christian Reichert, "It won't be full of colourful headstones and we don't want to turn the graveyard into a bazaar for fan merchandise, but it will be a place for true fans to find their final resting place". There will also be a memorial to some of the club's best players.

Not a bazaar? Think it's quite bizarre. tongue.gif

Yeah, good idea, let all the HSV fans rest there in peace. ph34r.gif

Only the dead ones Hammonia, only the dead ones. And before you get any ideas, I think there a 'death of natural causes' clause in there somewhere laugh.gif

A thread about a cemetery with 3 posts and 4 smileys already. Shocking irreverence.

I would've thought St Pauli would come up with this before HSV:

I'm surprised Manyoo haven't done this already with executive "boxes" for the really wealthy. Won't be long I suppose.

Last year Real Madrid turned down various requests to have dead fans' ashes scattered on the pitch. Dunno, would it have harmed or fertilized the grass?

SV Hamburg are better than FC Arrogant (Bayern Munich) who think that they have the god given right to control things in German Football. Fans are friendly as well and down to earth.
