Like a gift from the heavens, it was easy to tell, It was love from above, that could save me from hell, She had fire in her soul it was easy to see, How the devil himself could be pulled out of me. There were drums in the air as she started to dance, Every soul in the room keeping time with there hands, And we sang… Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay!

So this is what I was just listening too and was moved by Paul who is shy, lacks confidence, wearing a cheap suit, and is a mobile phone saleman. But he's trying to follow his dream with this audition. The reaction from the judges and the audience was amazing. If you are not some how moved by this video, check your pulse. He's such an inspiration.
That's what I love about the interwebby. I sit at a Mac, looking at a wall littered with hundreds of CDs thinking I'm the dogs bollocx of all things musical and then PES, who I've never met before, posts this. So I've now spent the past hour checking out this rather talented M. Ward character. Many thanks PES. I've very much enjoyed the last hour.

Most welcome. But don't over do it: I listen and listen and listen to M. Ward and now need a break. It is addictive stuff...

I remember that one - I even have it plus a few more of their albums. Saw them on UK TV once many a moon ago. Annie Haslam had some voice...

Yeah, Annie Haslam sure has a magnificent voice. I've got most of Renaissance's albums too and I like to listen to them once in a while. The song below from their 1973 album Ashes Are Burning is another nice little number of theirs:

the T.V.'s on too much and I don't ever think enough about the things that matter most and what could make me old
and there's no argument for wasting time much better spent complacently replacing a melody with smoke
Great f-ing band. I saw them for the 10th time this August and they blew me away - again. They'll be doing a European tour in February/March. I've already got tix for March 16/18/19 in Amsterdam.
