Put onto this band by a friend. If you like U2 , Simple Minds type rock with a bit more edge this is really good.
Lavender Rain

This is a great CD! Mick Hucknall, the lead singer of Simply Red, I just love his voice. This CD although it is classified as Pop has some really nice jazz overtones.
FuzzyTony
Yes, Simply Red are a great band. This is my favorite song of theirs:

Simply Red - "Fairground"

Lavender Rain
FT, thanks for posting this. I'm still listening to Simply Red and it's quite nice to get a visual with this video as this is one of my favorite songs on Simplified. But I noticed that the video version is not the same as the CD. The CD version does not have the heavy bass beat.
FuzzyTony
You're welcome. Here's another great tune of theirs that I'm fond of:

Simply Red - "Something Got Me Started" ('Simplified' version)

Blimeygirl
'Spiral' - William Orbit feat. Sugababes
(I have heard the song many times when going through our playlist but only today did I confirm that it was indeed Sugababes background vocals, it totally sounded like them and it was bugging me for months now - finally googled today.)

There is a new release of Kenny Roger's old hit, "Lady" that I have been hearing on the radio here in Paris. They never announce who it is! But I like it even better than the original. I googled it but no luck.

Anyone have a clue?

Papa Roach - The Paramour Sessions -- all in all a great album. I admit though that this band is somewhat a leftover from my younger years and if I were to hear them today for the first time, I might not be so positive smile.gif.

Listening to Chicago's album Chicago X.

Magnificent. smile.gif And I still remember back in '76 the release of one of the best compositions in popular music: 'If You Leave Me Now'.

Chicago - "If You Leave Me Now"

Lavender Rain
Wow, now that takes me way back. This album came out a year after I was out of high school and I loved it. I have some very fond memories of that time in my life. It was a big hit in Chicago that year. A Classic!
