"Speeding Cars"

Here's the day you hoped would never come
Don’t feed me violence, just run with me
Through rows of speeding cars
The paper cuts, the cheating lovers
The coffee’s never strong enough
I know you think it’s more than just bad luck

Quite appropriate!

Loneliness is your only friend.
A broken heart that just won't mend
Is the price you pay.

It's hard to take when love grows old.
The days are long and the nights turn cold
When it fades away.

You hope that she will change her mind
But the days drift on and on.
You'll never know the reason why she's gone.

You see her face in every crowd.
You hear her voice, but you're still proud
So you turn away.

You tell yourself that you'll be strong.
But your heart tells you
This time you're wrong.

You hope that she will change her mind
But the days drift on and on.
You'll never know the reason why she's gone.

If you could read my mind- Gordon Lightfoot. I love this song, I don't know why, it just hits the buttons and always has.

I still listen to Gordon with great joy.

Thanks for that, not least because I got to listen to The wreck of Edmund Fitzgerald which I'd forgotten about. Looks like I need to seek out a Gordon Lightfoot greatest hits CD. smile.gif

I LOVE THIS SONG somehow he reminds me of Billy Joel in his genius years..It's Goodbye Philadelphia.

Thanks Saint for sharing that link. I'm not familiar with Peter Cincotti, but I just loved the way he sang that song. Amazing. I will definitely listen to it over again as I liked it just that much.

What I'm listening to right now is Miles Davis Live Around the World.

you're welcome Lavender. I heard the song by accident I guess because I rarely listen to the radio. But yeah, his voice is just amazing. I am listening for the third time this morning unsure.gif

Punchbear
Soundtrack to Once. Seldom heard something so pure and honest and straight-to-the-soul. Simple melodies that smash the bluntest corners of the deadest souls with hardcore honesty. Lump the music in with the Coldplays and Keanes of this world if you will, but this bear is smitten by the rawness and hopeless romanticism. I think I may actually be a romantic at heart such is the love I feel for this here music.

I rented The Lives of Others (Das Leben der Anderen) last night. They played Beethoven's Appassionata in it so I checked it out from the library today and am listening to it now. By the way, the movie is fantastic.

Listening to a brilliant podcast from nugs.net which features Grateful Dead covers. Loser by Keller Williams is not to be missed. Dupree's Diamond News by some outfit called The Waybacks is enough to bring a tear to the eye of Jerry Garcia or Stephane Grapelli.

Love that song, but REALLY love the "alternate" video for it with the dancing guy.
Johnny English
Due to accidentally downloading too many tracks, and setting my iTunes to shuffle I am now listening to the "Texas Lightning" version of "Dancing Queen".

I have heard some crap tracks in my time but a hillbilly version of Abba is truly piss frigging awful.

Charlene - I've never been to me.

I think I am gagging.

This shuffle system needs a little tweaking.
