Car rental for driving to Hungary

Hi Everyone,

I have a friend that will be coming to Germany and wants to rent a car here and drive it to Hungary. Do you know if the car rental places allow this?

The car would be coming back to Munich and would be rented for a couple weeks.

Depends on the type of car you want to rent. The more expensive cars like Mercedes and Porsche can only be used within German and Austria generally but if you get a small cheap car then you can take them further afield.

I don't think with the bigger firms it is a problem as I have hired from Germany to UK on a number of occasions.

not every agency allows their cars to go 'east', so I would just check their web pages or call the nearest car rental place to you.
As Sleepless said, often it depends on the car too.

Don't see why there should be a problem taking a car to Hungary and not the UK. I mean, you could be driving to Liverpool.
