What's OWL?

Ostwestfalen-Lippe.

Those that live there should know!

Ok well I obviously don't, but that's a bit of a tongue twister. Where is it? Name some cities and I'll think if I know anyone from that region.

Is it a sub-region of NRW then?

Yeah it basically incorporates Herford, Bielefeld, Bad Salzuflen, Minden, Lübecke, Detmold, that sort of area.

There's a few miltary-types down here as well (mostly NATO to tell the truth) so you can all moan about cheap magazine subscriptions and even cheaper postage rates together *grumble*

If OWL estends as far down as Hamm, I think there's still a little Irish Pub there called O'Casey's. Run by a gentleman by the name of Robert Benne (mind, this is going back a good couple of years). Nice town, nice pub, and tremendous hospitality. Mite be a good place to meet other English minded folk
