There is this neighborhood fest thingy here and its been going on for a week, and they are still singing (or playing music) and it sounds like a childrens choir in a church and its so freakin annoying, but it's too warm to close the windows, gosh I wish i had gone out tonight instead of deciding to stay in, what a crappy night.

My suggestion that Church bells should be considered noise pollution and prosecuted has, thus far, failed to capture the publics imagination. I think I'm ahead of the curve on this one.

German Efficiency
There isnt any
Everyone is making mistakes...even when I filled out the paperwork correctly and had my bf there. So at the bank my first and middle name were one and all of a sudden I am British!!! The Finazamt apparently cant read applications because my last name is now spelled the German way and they cant get my zip code right...How the hell am I suppose to get anything done if they cant get this crap right!!! My Steuer nummer never came because of the mistakes, good thing I had someone call seeing as I only have 2 weeks left before I would need another extension to stay here. I cant get my residence visa till I have this number...
Damn I am frustrated, whoever said the Germans were efficient can suck a big one!!!

I HATE the new "roll over" ads on the net. They are everywhere now. At least before you had the option to open an ad by clicking on it (which I never ever did) but now - you can not navigate through a page without those stupid ads opening up. Especially if you are at work and dont want someone to know you are on the net and all the sudden some stupid ad starts playing music cos your mouse went across the ad

Like WTF? If you are not trained to work in the US as a DH, what makes you think you can do it suddenly because you land in Germany? Why does nobody care about the patient? Why is it always the bottom line the euro?

I'm annoyed because the farmers across the street have a bunch of cats (4) that they allow their 11 yr old son to keep. They feed them but that is it (no vaccinations, no de-wurming, etc). Now one of them has an infected paw. The paw is huge and the cat isn't walking on it. The kid's mother told him that she would not take the cat to the vet (this was Saturday). I'm pissed because the cat is obviously in pain and probable the foot is infected! I'm thisclose to taking the cat myself (although I would probably get stuck paying for it). Stupid farmers!!

argh. this is getting annoying. i'm trying to find decent tickets to Phoenix at Christmas. My boss won't let me go 2hr early so the ticket i wanted i can't get!
Now it's spend min. 5 hr to get to AZ (when it should only take 3, at most 4) or pay min. 50-100 more!
On top of it i'm trying to sort out dog boarding grrrr. If i knew which airline i'm flying it'd help because then i could sort out if the dog is flying with me or staying here- most likely staying here and i doubt i'll be going on the airline i want, Midwest, since the only ticket that is acceptable between the times i'm free from work and the family requires me in AZ is about $100 more!
(yes, you might say $50-100 isn't a lot to add on, but when you're already beyond broke it is!)
I wonder if me simply showing up and being there can count as a Christmas gift to them... at the moment it's looking like something's going to have to give and at the moment the only thing that can is next summer's trip to Germany

Lazy co-workers!
It’s not my fault something printed wrong! Don’t tell me to reprint something! Do it yourself. It’s for you. Yes, I printed the originals, but it’s not my fault you didn’t enter your information correctly into the database. Now that it’s correct you fix it. I have enough to do the next few days. Oh, what? I have less than you? WRONG! Last I checked you’re also not trying to prep exams for December and work with the translators, are you? NO. Sometimes you might be busier than I am, but at the moment I have more pertinent and important things to do than reprint your crap because you messed up the first time.
GRR I really do not like my job.
I cannot wait until mid-day tomorrow or Thursday when I can get back to the translations, even if it’s the exam I hate, and stop doing my lazy coworkers work.

German Neighbours.
Good Grief. They never moan about the terrible state of my front garden, they take me to places I need to go to and translate for me. They are friendly, we lend each other things, offer to loan me their cars though they hardly know me, they even ask for things like eggs if they need them and offer me money!!!
They come round to help me, give me advice and tips. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!My neighbours at my last abode still come round and invite me to parties, the village that I lived in always invite me to their parties and get-togethers, they always attend my parties, I have never had a cross word with them...It is terrible, I cannot post anything about obnoxious German neighbours, racist German neighbours or even moan about my neighbours. I have not experienced racism, sexism, in fact I have only kind words to say about every German neighbour I have met.
I think that I will just have to make something up about my German neighbours and blow it out of all proportion.
(This was not a reply to any post on this forum, it is just something I had to get off my chest)

I told them I would be back asap after my appointment. And lo and behold there is nothing to see now, absolutely nothing, na da, zilch!!

Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you’re attached at the hip-separate! Your friends would enjoy hanging out with you alone. Your husband is fine, but occasionally it’d be nice to see you alone. I see you more than the rest of our ‘group’ does so when we’re planning on going out for food after work and they haven’t seen you for a few months and last time was with your husband it’d be nice to possibly have time without you. When the husband is around you’re a lot more subdued and concentrating only on him.

I just had this perky, young 20 something, blonde chick run infront of me as I was almost to the check-out line at grocery area at Karstadt. Actually just there to buy myself a bottle of port to "celebrate my birthday" (another birthday when my husband is out of town for work). Then she turned & said something smart. Must have been the whole "Na-na...I won" type thing in German. I think that she thought that she was pretty special. Ok, I have had 2 glasses of wine before dinner. I just gave her this look & said "bad dharma, bad karma". Maybe she did not understand English, but I felt MUCH better. Ok. off to my bottle of port.

Cars have rules. Bikes do not. Get used to it.
By the way, when I am elected evil cycling overlord of your universe, I will put horn monitors in every car.
The first bump on the horn per year, be it accidental or not, will cost you 50 Euros. Every incident of honking after that will cost you 100 Euros and one unit of blood. From your offspring.
Also, I am patenting an easy-access egg holder to be mounted on the front of bikes for quick throwing at your (mostly BMW or Mercedes) back windshield.
Keep passing us, and then shifting over to the right side of the lane so that we have to stop and look at the back of your ass-shaped vehicle and can't pass you. Egg is a bitch to clean off.
Get out of your car. I dare you.

Nail it. But remember that under the official annual points scheme you only score 1 point. You get 2 points for a fresh one, and 1 just point for anything nailed in a previous year. It's a strict December 31st year end so anything nailed on a New Years Eve party will probably count towards the next year (unless you are in-like-Flynn before midnight). Just thought I should clarify this important aspect.

I'm fucking broke. Seriously fucking broke. I don't have any money at ALL and I need to figure out a way to survive for the rest of the month. Nevermind the fact that I don't have a fucking winter coat and will need one soon. Or the fact that I am in serious fucking need of a haircut. And I have 500 Euros in student loans that need to be paid by the beginning of November and frankly I have no idea how I'm supposed to make that money materialize.
Frustrated and depressed would be a serious fucking understatement.

Could you sell something that would make you some money? I don't know, maybe some electrical appliances that you can live without for a while. Do you have family who could support you for some time? Offer them to pay the money back as soon as you can, maybe in rates.
And I'd honestly wait with the haircut. That is hardly a need, more of a want. Cover the needs first, then if you have money left-over cover the wants. You could also buy a winter coat cheap at a thrift store.
And how broke are you exactly? Do you still have money to buy food and pay utility bills and rent? Or do you have nothing at all?

FallenAngel, if you would PM me your bank account number I will give you (not loan) you some money. I have a few extra Euros laying around to spare. Why do I help you when I don't even know you? Because I remember quite vividly 30 years ago when I was in your same predicament when I was a struggling undergraduate student and there were so many people who believed in me and came to my financial rescue so I could get my degree. The only thing those generous people expected of me in return was for me to help someone else one day. I sent you a PM in case you don't see this.

Hey, ladies.

I'm not going to starve to death- but I very much appreciate the offer to help me out, LR. Thank you.
It's not that bad- money is there for food and bills til the end of the month. And I will talk to family about the student loan bit. I think it will be ok. I'm just extremely frustrated at the moment and being on a constantly tight budget irritates me more. And moaning about needing a haircut-- just icing on my whining fit, really. I know I have to wait for a haircut. At the moment I'm just trying to get things sorted out money-wise and it just irritates me.

I can understand how you feel though when I end up being on a tight budget it is usually due to a little irresponsible spending in the weeks before, so I can only blame myself for it.
