Having been burned before -- sometimes intentionally on the part of the scumbag, sometimes ohne Absicht thanks to how courts here work -- I have every intention of once again seeing the not insignificant sum I'm about to loan out. To this end I need a simple loan contract for private loans between two private persons. Are there such standard, fill-in-the-blank forms here? I could use both secured and unsecured versions.

Cheers,

My future landlord said he was going to buy a 'Standardvertrag' over the weekend and fill in my and his info for for renting a flat to me .. from a Schreibwarenhaendler so I guess you could try any kind of stationers and see if they have something similar for loans. I've never seen them though (nor have I looked).

Found some info in Wikipedia:

QUOTE
So I would check with the BGB to see what they look like. Also:
QUOTE
Zu den schuldrechtlichen Standard-Vertragstypen des BGB gehören insbesondere:

[...]
als Gebrauchsüberlassungsverträge:

der Mietvertrag und der Pachtvertrag,
der Leihvertrag
der Darlehensvertrag,
der Teilzeit-Wohnrechtevertrag

UA: thanks. If you come across any actual forms that I can download/copy/edit as necessary, please let me know.

far-lands: You "wouldn't"? Wouldn't what, exactly? The statement, such as it is, doesn't jibe with the Spruch[/i}. You have no idea what the loan is for, who it's to, the terms and conditions, the security, nor what benefit I might receive, tangible or intangible. Furthermore, I never wrote about loaning money to a friend but I most certainly [i]did start a thread in the hopes of finding a standard contract which I would think indicates that I have no intention of just handing over some cash and hoping I get it back one day, whether to a friend or a business.

Try Formulabox, searching for "Darlehensvertrag" There are a couple of pro-forma there that might do the business. Unofrutnately you have to pay to see them...

You can buy 'standard contracts' to be filled in and deleted as applicable from Deutsche Post...
