BBQing at Karlsfeldersee - near Dachau

Does anyone know if it is possible to BBQ at Karlsfelder see near Dachau ? If so, at what part of the lake is it allowed ?

A quick Google search would imply that you certainly can grill there, but I didn't see any indication as to which sections permit it.

The first result back showed that these guys appear to be out there today. Apparently there is a grillplatz beside the car park area.

There are designated grill places on Karlsfelder see, they are on the shore opposite the seehouse, however they are normally taken over very early by the local Turkish residents who leave Grannie there from 8 or 9 am, to guard the spot, also don´t forget the Seidlerfest is on at the moment so the lake is extra busy.

but could you take your own grill with you then? Like one of those small disposable ones? Just curious.

Yes you can take your own little disposable BBQ but the area we found was a little over run with wasps due to all those environmentally friendly peeps who left their ice-cream wrappers strewn all over the shop.

However, once i got the fire stoked up and slapped on a couple of steaks the wasps were history and the steaks were bloody wonderful.

Also found out that you can grill at Echingersee but if you dont get their early its a bit of a hike to the BBQ spot.
